*Open to a shot of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire set. The studio is darkened, save for a lone spotlight that shines down on the center of the set. Standing in the light is Regis Philbin*
Regis: For more than a decade, our game has thrilled audiences around the world. Contestants from all walks of life have faced off against our Hot Seat, hoping to transform their seemingly useless knowledge into enormous piles of cash.
*The monitor in the back of the studio switches on and displays videos of memorable contestants from all versions of the game*
Regis: Over the years, contestants have walked away with millions of dollars, and countless lives have been changed. Tonight, for the first time ever, contestants from all around the world have converged on this studio to take on our game and win our million dollar prize. It's an event so big, I don't know if I can handle it myself!
*The lights behind Regis go up, revealing Millionaire hosts from around the world gathered together on one set for the first time*
Regis: Good thing I've got a little help!
*Regis and the other hosts smile*
Regis: The drama, the music, the excitement... all of it will escalate to new levels as we celebrate our fans from across the globe who have helped to make this show a worldwide phenomenon! *Regis points at the screen* Welcome... to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire!
*Cue the opening sequence. The theme song from the US 10th Anniversary Celebration plays as pieces of the Millionaire logo begin to take shape over the many countries of the world. The camera zooms out to reveal Earth from space as the Millionaire logo comes together on top of it. Just as the logo finishes forming, there is an explosion of light and the logo flies toward the screen. The camera enters the "o" in "Millionaire" and arrives in the studio to find a wildly cheering audience. The lights in the studio are waving wildly. Regis enters the studio to thunderous applause, while the other Millionaire hosts, including Chris Tarrant, Günther Jauch, Eddie McGuire, Meredith Vieira, and others, who are situated in the audience seats closest to the Ring of Fire around the edge of the set, stand up to applaud. Eventually, the applause begins to lessen and the lights move to their neutral positions*
Regis: Thank you! Thank you, everybody! It's wonderful to be back here once again, and I can't tell you how much I've missed taking part in the magic that is Millionaire! Tonight, we're holding a very special international edition of the show to help celebrate the ever-growing legion of fans who have kept the series strong for more than a decade. We've combined the most popular elements of the different versions of the game, as chosen by the fans, to help create the ultimate Millionaire experience. Not only that, but the hosts of the the various international versions of Millionaire are here to take part in the fun, and our contestants have been invited from all over the world to vie for the chance to sit in our Hot Seat.
*Regis turns to the other hosts in the audience*
Regis: How are you guys doing?
Chris: Great, Reege!
Regis: Hey, that's fantastic. *Regis turns back to the camera* Who is that guy?
*The audience laughs*
