How do you think it all looks? I personally like that everything's on-screen, rather than off to the side. And the extra space on each side of the screen due to broadcasting in HD looks nice - I can see why they took off the bars now, since those would be REALLY long bars for the question and answers. I've also noticed that they're using shots of the "Money Left" screen on-stage rather than showing it to us. While it took a moment to adjust, I think it's all looking great.

I thought it looked spectacular. I don't know if it was just me, but I thought the lighting looked much neater. Probably just due to the fact that it's in HD.

Conuraptor: I thought there was something different about the lighting too. Maybe they did change it a bit, or maybe it really is just that it's HD. FrankT: Yes, it is. Beautiful 16:9.

They replaced the blue lights surrounding the "fastest finger" area and the ones right below the big screen. It looks really sharp. |

I really, really like the updates to the set. The lighting last season was very understated, even in person. This season, the lights are probably better than they have ever been before. They are very striking indeed. Also, the new steps around the main screen look great.
The graphics look awesome, too. I don't find myself missing the bars, and I quite like the "hovering" Money Tree. The one thing I question is the transparency of the right side of the "Banked Money" gold bar. Why make the edge transparent? I know that people with standard definition televisions can't see it, but why do those of us watching in widescreen have to see the gold "fade away"? That's a really, really minor nitpick, though. My only other nitpick is that they still didn't make the lines on the floor connect with giant arcs, but I see how that's a huge undertaking to change and understand why it hasn't been done (and yes, I know it's technically always been that way, but I can't be the only person who is bothered by that).
Overall, though, the presentation this season is leaps and bounds better than last season, and that alone makes the show so much more enjoyable to watch. Oh, and was anyone else as pleased as I was when the intro came on and there was no audience clapping drowning out the theme song?

I'm one of the main uploaders for Millionaire stuff on YouTube and when they changed the format over it became difficult to keep regular uploads going. With all the previous seasons it was pretty easy to find something almost weekly. With the money and question difficulty going up each time, it was easy to find a funny moment with a contestant if they were blatantly missing a keyword or something on the 4th question and I could poke fun at them (in a good way). With the clock version, there were many suspenseful moments and those too made good videos to upload. With the new format, though, all of that pretty much went out the window and the only thing I'm left with are moments when a contestant makes a terrible joke or when they win/lose a substantial amount of money. I always watch for something to upload though! -Mech |

I'll have a clip or two uploaded by next weekend when Celebrity Week finishes. I'm concerned because I don't believe my station bought the HD version either unless they just aren't labeling it [HD]. The good news is I do have HD recording capability with 1080p resolution this season, so I'll run a sample on Monday and we'll see how well it turns out. Yes Mech |

I really like the look of the new season. I was impressed with the look last season but they made the right changes. The question lozenges are alright. I think the UK style with long lines would have been cool, but that's just nitpicky stuff. Overall it looks fantatstic
