So after today
WARNING: SPOILER... sort of. ;D
Millionaire started their Double Your Money week. The first contestant that won the DYM money won $25,000 x2. Totalling $50,000 plus what he already won. That helped him in walking with a great total of some $33,000+ today. Big congrats to him, but here's something to keep in mind...
Why does it seem like the $25,000 value comes up this much. Remember the first two contestants of the season earned $25,000 on their FIRST question. I know they say it's randomized, but somehow, it would come to no surprise that Millionaire tweaked the randomness just a bit. The odds of getting $25,000 on the DYM question is obviously 1/10... not saying that that's unlikely, but in all seriousness, I've played RyanZ's game quite a few times, and few times have I ran into $25,000 (or $15,000 in Enhanced Mode.) Like I said, it's just weird how it happens like that. The odds rarely play in favor of the contestant, but maybe it was entirely luck. I don't know, I just feel that somewhere, the folks at Millionaire are tweaking it somehow. My thoughts are it might be to add to the suspense and showing the audience that $50,000 win would make it more worth watching, at least for the rest of this week, to see if anyone can do it again.
I have no problem in believing the randomness of the placement of the DYM question. With the first contestant place 8th of 10 and the second, 4th, I see it's probably random. Maybe Millionaire placed the DYM question where the $25,000 was so if the contestant got it right, it would be certain the FIRST contestant at least won the big jackpot.
So, do you think I'm crazy. I mean if that was $10,000 or $15,000 it wouldn't make me ponder this much more. He had plenty of bucks on the board since it was only his 4th question. All 3 top dollar amounts were in.
Don't get me wrong, I'm so glad he won the money and the first contestant won her money (would've been better if she could've won the double too, but that's ok) but I just speculate this after seeing the sheer "luck" of the contestants when there's always a 1/10 chance of placing two randomized characteristics together (DYM and $25,000 top value)
Thoughts? And I'm sorry this is long, basically it's a long rant. ;D
