I emailed Andy earlier this morning and this was our conversation.

Dear Mr. Walmsley,

I hope you are enjoying your day, and this e-mail finds you well. I have a been a fan of 'Millionaire' since I was a teenager. Now that I'm older, I've started to recreate some props of my favorite game shows, including 'Millionaire.' I have a few questions regarding the design of the Hot Seat. I'm attempting to build a 1:1 replica, as seen in the pictures below, and I am hoping to see if you might give an in-depth explanation of the Hot Seat's design? I was planning to start this project at the beginning of January 2014. I have also attached a photo my version of the Hot Seat to show you that I'm serious about recreating it. If you can get back to me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you taking the time to read this e-mail.

Hi Andy,

Thank you so much for your compliments on my version of your Hot Seat. You have no idea how much that means to me. Can you give me more information about the center podium that holds the contestant and host screens? That is where I am having trouble a this time. My podium is not balanced correctly, causing the podium to potentially tip over (which has happened a couple of times.) What do you suggest to balance the center podium and make it sturdy?

It just needs to be bottom heavy. Add weight to the inside of the base dome

I'm not sure if you saw the link to the build, was there anything you suggest to make it look more like the real one? If feel like our Hot Seat is very flimsy compared to yours. If you are allowed to, would you be able and/or willing to send any schematics for the center podium?

I would love to but they where drawn pencil on paper over 14 years ago before i moved to the USA and before I went fully computerized. I don't have the drawings any more

Aw, that's too bad. If you end up remembering the design, or obtain information regarding the center podium from any of your sources or contacts, any help would be grateful.

Someone should open up a Millionaire themed salon with those chairs and call the establishment Who Wants To Get A New Haircut.

Yeah, I found an alternative for the chairs. Instead of the real leather upholstery, I found a chair on Ebay with a vinyl upholstery with a star base and accurate foot rest.

Hi all,

Last weekend, a friend and I have started rebuilding our Hot Seat. All with Andy Walmsley's tips. Here are the pics thus far. And tonight, we do some paint jobs.
