Hey guys! I have another question: Is HIV a condition or bacteria/germs that are in your body? For instance, if a person with HIV didn't wash his/her hands after exposure, and touches a doorknob or something, will the next person who touches that doorknob get HIV/AIDS? Thanks!

No. It's transmitted through introducing infected blood into an uninfected person (usually through botched blood transplants -- very, very, very rare) or unprotected sex with an infected person. Edit: Fixed spelling error.

So it's just called HIV (V stands for Virus) but it's really a condition that someone has when introducing infected blood into an uninfected person? Thanks!
