Alex Davis has begun posting pictures of the new set, which is indeed smaller, but looks great. This picture was posted on the Buzzerblog Facebook page: The lights aren't turned on here, but you can still spot a few nice changes: the floor lights and column lights light up (so my OCD can take a break now), there's definitely a lot of new lighting around the set, the Millionaire logo is now under the (revised) center table, and the question screen is enormous. I'm sure there will be more pictures posted on the page soon - www.facebook.com/buzzerblog - and I'll repost them in this thread as they surface. I'm loving this new set so far!

It'll take some time to grow on me. Right now, it looks a little bit like those smallish knockoffs you find in other countries.

I agree with GSK.
When the Clock Format changed to the Shuffle Format, I easily adapted to the then-new Season 9/10 Set because the Audience area and the Set area were the same, if not similar, in size. However, I think it will take some time before I can fully adapt to the new Season 11 Set.
By the way, from the picture, I think that the space between the column lights where the main wide screen is, compared to the Season 9/10 Set, is wider in size.
Is the screen wider as well?

wwtbamfan: Yes, the screen is wider, possibly at a whopping 22 feet wide according to Alex Davis. It has also been stated that the money board screen is larger as well.

Yeah, I think the new set looks great especially the wider screen, I like that, but I don't like that the set is smaller. But I guess well get used of it.

I think the set looks pretty good, actually. The old set was beginning to show it's wear. It was getting to the point where you could tell it was essentially cobbled together from minor set tweaks over the last decade. This looks clean and crisp, and the thicker light columns look nice. Yes, it's clearly smaller, but I think the set has looked pretty small ever since the format changed, so that's really not a huge deal. The "Hot Zone" podium and floor logo look particularly good
Unfortunately, no local channels in my city will be playing "Millionaire" this year, so you guys will have to tell me how it looks in action on September 3 unless I find some other way of watching the show.

I like the new set. Sure, it'll take some getting used to it, but I like the step forward. And it might look smaller but with the lights on and with the camera perspective, it won't be very noticeable, I think. What I'm wondering, though, is where they get the money for all of that. Since shuffle started, they've added so many great things to the set and the show itself: Double Your Money, Celebrity Week, Club Millionaire, etc. and now they even have the finances for a new set? Either the music deals with the Strachans used to burn a hole in their pockets or they were too stingy to spend any more of their budget than they had to.

WOW! I'm amazed by how the new studio looks. Anxious to see the new version when it airs on my local station on Sept 3, 2012!
Wonder why they made the studio even smaller when the "ORIGINAL" was smaller to begin with?
From what I've seen by looking at the studio pics, looks like they added the German Studio top lighting over the "Podium" area. Interesting...I must say!

Not too bad.... I still like the old set better, so I might need some time to adjust to it. And I'll be able to catch the season premiere before I start school again!

Here's a video of the new set in action, coupled with an interview with Meredith. Everything looks great in motion! It's not a dramatic change, but the set does look sleeker and more modern. If you feel a disturbance in the Millionaire force on September 3, it's my anger at not being able to watch the season premiere in my city and drink in all of the changes on day one.

Sounds like they use at least some of the music in the studio. Is that new too or have they always only edited the question beds in post-production?
