^ So you're not even gonna give him a chance?
IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD! For all we know, he could be a lot better with this particular show than the doomsayers make it out to be. Give him a chance before you declare doomsday. I had to watch the rage fly in a situation just like this in another fandom a week or so ago, I REALLY don't want to watch that happen again.
Which would you rather have: one more year of Millionaire (at least), even if it's a bit different, or nothing at all?
TL;DR: Wait and see.
(I apologize if I came across as a bit rude, but the point needed to be made.)

I would've rather seen Todd Newton or Chuck Woolery host Millionaire. They're gameshow legends and know what they're doing.

I'm not 'out' but I'm probably not going to watch anymore.
For the record, I have no idea who Pat Bullard and Patrick Wayne are.

^ Game Show Garbage can explain Patrick Wayne better than I can. Pat Bullard was just as bad, if not worse. He basically hosted a few failures, and was probably part of the reason they failed. Probably why all four of the shows he's hosted made it onto said website. ...Wow, I really need to get out more.

^ So you're not even gonna give him a chance? No, I'm not. My interest in US Millionaire went down quite a bit when they changed to the shuffle format and now they bring in some clown and completely take away the small amount of drama the show had left. Rich Sirop, you have ruined the show of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I'll have to focus my interest on UK Millionaire now. At least Chris is still there and they still have 10 times the drama the US version will ever have again.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Despite it still being somewhat cool and the cues were cool, I felt it lost its true feel when this happened. More than anything I would absolutely love if they went back to the classic format with classic cues and graphics.

I think the hope that I have for this is that Cedric doesn't try too hard to force humor out of a show that typically gets viewed/played under a serious light. I can't say I'm too understanding of the decision, but I certainly will not judge until I see him in action.
I do have to agree with an above post though - it is slightly hard for me to care because of the current Shuffle format.

I'm also waiting for Cedric's first WWTBAM show as a host. I hope that he'll make the show more enjoyable.
But I'll give him a thumbs down whenever his sense of humour is over the limit!

I can't say that I'm thrilled about this. It's becoming increasingly apparent that the post-Michael Davies regime doesn't really have a good understanding of what makes "Millionaire" work. Almost all of the changes they've made - removing the Hot Seat, ditching the world-renowned iconic musical score, and changing the atmosphere to be bright and lively - run counter to what made the show so special in the first place. I feel like what sets "Millionaire" apart from other formats is that it's such a dark, classy affair. You almost want to wear a suit and tie just to watch it. I don't think Cedric the Entertainer has the personality to fit that atmosphere, and the fact that the producers were looking for a Steve Harvey clone in the first place shows that they don't seem to understand what made the show a phenomenon to begin with.
All that being said, I'll wait to pass final judgment until I see Cedric in action. There's always a possibility that he could be better than any of us imagined, and I'm willing to give him a try. The upside to all this is that perhaps Cedric will provide the shot in the arm that this show needs to recapture the attention of general audiences. Heck, if Cedric the Entertainer is what gets my local affiliate (and countless others) to start showing "Millionaire" again, then bring him on. It's a shame to know that there were so many potentially awesome choices out there, though, who were perhaps overlooked just because the producers wanted to shamelessly mimic the success of "Family Feud."

Thank goodness this site was brought up. I USED to be a fan of USA Millionaire, even at the clock version. After shuffle came, I just really lost interest. BADLY. Even Game Show Garbage gave it a horrible time. Regis hated it, too. EDIT: Nevermind, apparently that isn't true. Just now, when I watch Millionaire, I remember how great the set, the music, the everything was. It was all gone here. Except Meredith. While some like here, some don't, it still was the one that people watched the show for. People may not have liked the changes post 2008, but they still watched the show because some people liked her. Now she's gone. Like Regisfan said, I think Cedric is just an excuse to cash in on the "Steve Harvey effect," which is like OH LOOK FAMILY FEUD IS SUCCESSFUL HEY LET'S PUT A COMEDIAN IN 4 THE LULZ AND 5.3 IN NIELSEN RATINGS! Here's a more recent GSG commentary. I full-heartily agree with this, too. Either let Regis (and heck, the OLD Millionaire, or even Rave for all I care) or I'm out. And, I'm out. So long, US Millionaire, it was nice knowing caring about you. RIP 1999-201X

I think I may have changed my mind somewhat. As much as I want to be the one to keep saying 'wait and see', unless TPTB can work miracles, I'm giving the show another 2 seasons at most. And hey, a decade and a half including the primetime shows is a pretty good run, right? And let's not rule out the potential for a revival a few years down the road.

It says on Game Show Garbage that Regis publicly called "Millionaire" (the current format) garbage on his talk show. Is this true? When Meredith came on promoting the show, it was clear that Regis was not too thrilled with the changes, at times even confused as to how the game now worked, but it didn't seem to me that he was so completely dissatisfied with it to the point where he would call it garbage.

I don't remember him ever using the word "garbage." I think that's just a case of poor reporting on Game Show Garbage's part. He did seem fairly disappointed in the format during his interview with Meredith, but I don't think Regis would ever use "garbage" to describe a colleague's program.

Is there any WWTBAM show up with Cedric being the host? Could you guys tell me which channel I can watch it on and the time? Or just share me a video?
