Okay members of the board, picture this.
It is January 2007 and you are sitting at your desk in ABC Studios staring at your folder which contains one task for you: Create a special 10 day Millionaire event or brief format change. You start writing down your ideas and suddenly one hits you which could be the success of your career. I want you to write it down here and share your ideas!
One idea I had was a Golden Run special.
Contestants play a modified money tree where everything is doubled so the top prize is $2 Million. Then they get a guaranteed $200 for getting the first question right but here is the new part. They can place where they want their second Safe Haven but it cant be within the first 5 questions. Also as a unique change that I have never seen before is the way they will handle Lifelines. At the start of the run they can pick three of five lifelines: 50/50, Ask The Audience, Switch the Question, Double Dip and Ask The Expert. They also put one of the remaining two at the second Safe Haven so they can collect it when/if they get there, the other lifeline will be lost.
I think that this change will provide a lot more strategy as if the player is confident they can set the Safe Haven quite high and have a good place to fall back on, but will have to be more cautious as there is a bigger falling point. The same can be said to a player who isn't very confident as they can put there Safe Haven close to the start and be more confident going into the high questions, but they will have more to lose on the higher questions.
