Has anyone noticed how useless some phone a friends are. A good phone a friend listens to the qusetion, and looks up the answer/knows the answer/ gives their opinion on the answer right away.
Most of them, however, have the question repeated so many times that time runs out before they give a response. OR they just sit there and say nothing.
Some phone a friends really get on my nerves.

"can you repeat the question" always gets on my nerves when it comes to that, you only have 30 seconds, and to waste it like that,i just dont get people either sometimes.

What gets me is that it is sooooo easy to look some questions up (which isn't against the rules) and some friends don't even try!

I know then they stand there and are like "i dont know" and all, especially after all the "repeat the question" times.

I recommend using the Phone-A-Friend after using the 50:50.
That way, if you have to repeat the choices (or if the PAF wants them repeated), you've got more time to do that (considering you've only got 2 choices to read).

True, but say your p.a.f. knows the answer 100%- wouldn't you feel bad about using the 50/50?
It's an evil circle.

yeah then you would have regretted not saving the 50/50 for later.

Right, but what we don't know is which PAF the player is going to use, and we also don't know how certain the PAF is on the question (or even if the PAF is an expert in the subject of the question).

On a show Regis said: "I have heard that it is intensely harder to be a phone-a-friend rather than to be a contestant." I trust them and the source regis heard it from.
I hope on some future millionaire editions they use some advanced tech like IMing the friend. Also AT&T was bought from a wireles company and by a hi-speed internet comapny even though AT&T make phone cards.
P.S. How is it that always that the friend always responds?

I want to make soething more easier to understand:
Why is the friend always there on the phone and not having a message saying "plz leave a message after the beep?" How does AT&T do it?

In Polish edition, many people use phone-a-friend to tell their friend to find the answer in the Internet. And they usually find.

Really? I've never heard of that happening before. I always wondered what the procedure is if the phone-a-friend doesn't answer!

Bumping the thread to answer the question, I think when a given contestant made it to the Hot Seat the producers called their phone-a-friends and let them know to be ready in case they were selected.
