Great find! It's fun to be able to see that episode again. I wish we had a high quality version of the episode to download. It's too bad GSN doesn't play these early shows.
This particular recording was a rerun that ABC aired near the end of the series' run. I remember the repeat week very well.

Nope, the opening fanfare played, the drums started up then he said all that. There were some commercials (obviously) for a few weeks before the show started, though.
