Hey everybody
I like to create new gameshows in my spare time (I have over 15 created and saved on my laptop). One of which I have tweaked to a point where I am actually going to get in touch with a company to sell it to. The show is called 'Hardline'. I thought I might share it with you just for the feedback :3
Hardline
Synopsis: Contestants do not answer questions to get cash, but to get time. Every second counts as this is a game of survival and risk where time is constantly running out.
Flow of play: The game is broken up into 4 rounds. Each round has 5 questions and one 'Cash Zone' at the end. At the start of a round, the contestant selects one of 4 categories to answer questions on in the round. Once the category is selected, the contestant has 15 seconds to start with along with 2 switches and 2 strikes. In each round, the contestant answers 5 questions each worth 10 seconds of time (15 in round 4). After the 5 questions, the contestant uses the time they have to go into the 'Cash Zone' where they have to answer as many questions as they can with the time left. Every correct answer gets the player cash in their bank. The 'Cash Zone' values increase with each round.
Round 1 = $500 per answer
Round 2 = $1,000
Round 3 = $2,500
Round 4 = $5,000
If a contestant is stumped after half their time is gone, 4 answers will appear and one of which is the correct one. If the contestant has no clue at all, they can use a switch to replace the question. Spent time on the previous question is lost. If the contestant gives an incorrect answer, they will get a strike. Each strike costs the player 5 seconds of time and a new question. The contestant is allowed 2 strikes, on the third strike the contestant is eliminated and leaves with $100. The same condition applies if the player runs out of time. After a 'Cash Zone' the contestant has the option to leave with the money they have in the bank.
Unique Traits: The game is a largely based on risk and reward but is also effected by the contestant under pressure. Just because they get to a 'Cash Zone', doesn't mean they are going to take a large amount of money. The contestant has to see their limits as there is a long way between cash amounts, but the cash amounts do greatly stack up. For example, 4 correct answers in the first 'Cash Zone' will get you $2,000 but 4 correct answers in the third 'Cash Zone' will get you $10,000. And totals do carry over so a mediocre performance in the first two rounds may effect how much you are willing to risk going for the higher amounts.
So there it is!
All feedback is apprechiated and any queries just needs to be put in the comments below.
