So as we approach the mid-point of the newest season of Millionaire with Terry Crews as the new host, I have to ask you guys, do you think he's been a good host so far? Honestly, at first I had my doubts, but I definitely like him A LOT more than Cedric, and to be honest, his excitement and involvement in the show is making me start to like him a bit more than Meredith. I really hope they keep him as the host of the show for a long time!!!!  |

I think Terry really appreciates the opportunity to host the show much more than Cedric did, and that bleeds through to his performance in a very positive way.
He's a decent enough fit for the Shuffle format, though I could never imagine him hosting the classic or clock formats (Meredith, by comparison, was great at every format). I think I'm just becoming increasingly disenchanted with the Shuffle format in general, which probably makes me a lot tougher on Terry than he deserves. I certainly think he's much better than Cedric, and I do see a future for him in unscripted television.

I agree with RegisFan that he is certainly much better at hosting than Cedric, who I always felt was a little bored with it all.
Terry shouts a bit much for my taste, but it's probably his way of letting his enthusiasm out, so fair enough. I definitely think being on the show is fun having him around. His energy wouldn't quite work if he had to sit in a chair and maintain a distance from the contestants. That's where Regis thrived, who, in turn, I can't imagine to be a very good Shuffle host.
Terry is a good fit for what Millionaire is at the moment. I wonder if the ratings were better now if it hadn't been for the Cedric intermezzo. The quality of the show definitely increased this year compared to last.

I kind of like Terry. Although I've only seen 1 or 2 of his episodes, I think he makes a great host and I hope he can stay for another season if he can.

Cedric The Entertainer, was in my opinion always meant to be a "Temporary Host." Cedric certainly did not fit in with the Millionaire Show what so ever. Terry Crews on the other hand is a really modern, bright, kind host who really engages with the contestants well. Also Crews is a very respected film actor who many people find amusing which helps his case. Finally I would have to agree with the people above me who have said that Terry would not fit very well with the Clock or Classic formats. I feel that Crews is a person who wants you to have fun! The Shuffle format does provide that and really, I feel fit with the Syndicated Gameshow template, whilst in the Philbin years we found the show to be much more suspenseful with a quiet atmosphere...

He's just what the show needs! A fun and energetic host! Terry Crews will definitely be around for at least 5 years. Hopefully he has a millionaire during his tenure.

Coming from someone who saw a taping with Terry as host, he was incredible in person. He genuinely wants someone to win money. And during the tapings, he energizes the as audience more so than the warm-up comedian.

I think my favorite part of him hosting is when he yells "LET'S PLAY MILLIONAIRE!!!!" and gets all excited.  |

I've only watched a handful of Terry Crew's hosting on the show and even though I kinda liked Cedric's 'calm' and straightforward style, it didn't take long for Terry to convince me that the show needed more energy and he was the one to deliver it. I really love how he's doing so far. He makes Millionaire all the more exciting to watch! He also has this charm that makes him such a likable host. Hopefully they'll keep him for a while.

Terry Crews, good in his hosting would only suit the Shuffle format, not really a good host of Millionaire if it was classic as I don't think he would step up to playing the more classic versions. But if anyone thinks there should be a classic week with a progressive ladder, still in same studio with same lifelines with 50:50, just seems a good idea. Off topic there, Terry is certainly good and fitting for this strange alien format. No sorry, he is fab at hosting the show and makes this bad format more entertaining.
