Tonight, Hot Seat in Australia got an update. The rules have had one slight tweak - for the final question (no matter what value) the contestant can switch the question(works mostly the same as it always has except the clock restarts for the new question). The broadcast graphics package got an update and the set was updated to include more graphics e.g. flames above the ring behind the audience plus graphics panels around the walls surrounding the main part of the set below the audience.
Will see if someone has posted a YouTube clip and if not will upload it myself as I recorded it.

That is a decent change to the game, all they need to do is make the $10,000 a safe haven and finally it will be a series I have to watch every day. The reason why I don't is Pointless (think reverse Family Feud) just came onto UKTV at the same time  |

Hadn't noticed that. Too many game shows in that time slot on Aussie TV(Pointless, Hot Seat and Million Dollar Minute(an Australian game show)).

I say keep it permanently, it actually makes people have a chance at winning some good cash.
Oh and I have to say that I personally like the new graphics. They remind me of 1vs100 and that is always a good thing.

I like these new graphics! I always thought Hot Seat should make their own question bars and win straps instead of using the blue "international" style... however I feel that now the question box was designed to look like the Shuffle graphics from the USA.
Nevertheless, these new graphics look amazing!
The set looks absolutely outstanding! I just don't like that video wall being right in front of the stairs... oh, I'll get used to it.
Great job Australia.

Yeah, blocking up the stairway makes it look like an afterthought, especially when... her companion comes down the stairs to hug her, and he's stuck on the other side. Shame too, because this set is snazzy. Still needs to be darker at the crucial times, but I really like what the set is capable of. Got some kinks to work out though. There are times when the graphics on the video wall appear to hiccup and flash. ben, when I look at the new question graphics, I think India. |

kplewisvox, they also remind me of India, but I think they should have gone all the way and replicate not just the outline, but the inside lozenges as well. I don't like the graphics package, to be honest. The green lozenge is very bright, and that yellowish green doesn't go well with the rest of the package. The lozenges are way too 'stretched out', and overall, it doesn't make that much of a good impact when displayed on screen. What makes things worse is the use of Eurostile all around. Millionaire doesn't deserve Eurostile. Millionaire deserved Conduit and Copperplate. I kind of 'accepted' the change to Verdana for the font face, seeing that it was becoming an international format and an international font was required, but still. They could have made a better job at incorporating a 'fresher' style to Hot Seat.

I love the new set! I especially like how, when they show the money tree, the colored bars correspond to the colors changing on the set, and vice versa. The new question and answer, and win straps look amazing, and the video walls look fantastic!

I have to say the new set looks absolutely stunning. Eurostile may not one be one of the original millionaire fonts but it does look really nice.
