Divvy Ok. You're Welcome. There you go. Isaved it a while ago and found it. You will not win any friendships if you pull stunts like this. What part of you thinks it's ok to post someone else's work without their permission?

Furthermore, zsolti853 and WWTBAMFan02, I will give the both of you a Perma-No during your Fan Games auditions, if you do not take that link down and clean up your act. This thread would be perfectly legitimate reason for giving a Perma-No.

Divvy How do I delete this thread? I looked up on how to delete a Proboards thread, but I can't find the "Moderate" setting in Actions. Only the moderators (RegisFan and FinalAnswer19) have access to those options. The only option you have is to delete an individual post (that you made). Otherwise, you can report the infringing post and either of the moderators will remove it when they can. Click on the GEAR icon of the post and select to report it.

Guys, just a few notes from somebody who has operated a site which could be considered an infringement on copyrights yet has existed for almost 16 years now. First of all, GSK is right. You should not post someone's work if that person has explicitly refused permission. That said, @divvy, you need to get off your high horse, my friend. Your work is a recreation (check and logo) of an idea that was neither created by you or to which you own the rights. You can't be a stickler on copyrights when you don't follow them yourself. It's probably a reasonable assumption that WWTBAM doesn't mind you recreating their intellectual property rights. For the same reason you should not worry about your work being used by others. It's actually to your benefit. Someone might improve on it; add things you did not think of. That's the idea behind sharing stuff. The community thrives because of it. Lastly, isn't it a REALLY BIG compliment that someone loves your recreation of that check enough to ask for it? At the very least a curt reply is unnecessary. We exist here because others allow us to share their work and build on it. Let's carry their spirit onwards.

This thread would be perfectly legitimate reason for giving a Perma-No. I understand you have the right to give a perma-no for any reason whatsoever, but wwtbamfan98 cannot delete his own thread. He has to call upon a moderator. The best he can do is delete his posts (the originating post where he asked, the response he responded to you.) zsolti853 has to remove the link or report the post to the moderator for deleting. Just trying to make sure that the guy that's not responsible for someone else's actions isn't penalized. He asked his question, got his no, and wwtbamfan98 moved on. Where as zsolti853 jumped the gun, placed that there and probably hasn't had a chance to read into this yet.

We exist here because others allow us to share their work and build on it. Let's carry their spirit onwards. Divvy created the check graphic and the assets on it. He made the logo himself. It's his property. There's no copyright issues here. Someone asked for his graphic. He said no, so someone else went around Divvy's back to post it anyway. That's disrespect more than anything. wwtbamfan98 and zsolti853 absolutely deserved the reactions they received. They should be lucky it wasn't my work they tried to swipe. I can see where Div is coming from. If someone went around my back to post the graphics I created from scratch for anyone to use, I too would be pissed off. If Div wanted someone to have his artwork and improve on it, he could license it under Creative Commons, which allows for these types of sharing and modifications. He hasn't done that. Sharing is great, don't get me wrong, but let's share things that we have permission to share. This is why things get leaked from the Fan Games section. People think everything ever should be shared with everyone in the world, and that's not always the way it should be.

Divvy created the check graphic and the assets on it. He made the logo himself. It's his property. There's no copyright issues here. No, he recreated someone else's work from scratch. That's a very important difference. You can't just copy the work of others and claim it as your own. Hence my original point.

FinalAnswer19 Oh, ok. Well, now I've learned my lesson. So, I'm going to close this thread, if it's ok. Or, a staff member can delete this thread.

I don't know how you're going to get it closed, but you can sure try, I suppose. And no, the staff won't delete the thread.
