Post ------------ I've always viewed the lifeline player as the default provider of Phone-a-Friend results. It would fall to Paul G. to answer the question unless Prizes had a specific person in mind that she wanted to ask. I figure it's best to have the lifeline player waiting in the wings so that the game doesn't stall. ------------ End

Hello, Prizes. To be honest, I have no idea XD. But, I can offer you a guess since you have nothing to lose on this question. I always at answer A (NCC-2893) as more favourable of the rest, but that's just me. Hope it helps. *hangs up phone*

Thank you Paul G.! Alrighty Prizes, Paul G. has given us A as his answer. But he didn't sound too sure. This is a free guess but you are out of lifelines to use. $64,000 here and you move on to the next question. You could theoretically walk with $32,000 but that's yours no matter how you'd do.

Thanks, Paul. It's okay, I've got as much a clue as you here. Honestly, though, since it's a free guess, and Paul wasn't sure either, I'll just try D, on the basis that the others begin with NCC, and D starts with NX. I'll make that my final answer.

D is locked in. Paul G. going with A... you ultimately decided against that and went with D. You have $32,000 no matter what happens. ... Except now you're up to $64,000 as D is the correct answer. In hindsight, not sure if it'll make much difference. NCC-2893 represents the USS Stargazer. The ship Picard acted as first mate on before his assigned Captain died mid-battle. NCC-1701 represents ships named "Enterprise" as NCC-1701-D and -E were the ships featured on the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" shows. That left NX-74205 which was the ship named "USS Defiant" as featured on the "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" series. Nonetheless, *hands over the $64,000 check to Prizes*. You're now on Question 12 for a whopping $125,000. Unfortunately, all of your lifelines .. have been expended. But there is no harm in looking at the question. For $125,000... let's play. *Let's play $125,000 plays as the lights come down in the studio... while the question plays on the screen as the Think Music plays in.*

Now this is right up my alley, US Politics! Total 180 from the previous question. This was in 1977, if memory serves, which would make the answer the president at the time, B, Jimmy Carter, final answer.
Even if I wasn't so sure of the year, I can't see Nixon as a Republican doing this, while LBJ and JFK are seemingly too intertwined by years of president-elect with that of the timeline of the Vietnam War to make this anything realistic, even with executive power.

*"Final Answer" plays as B is highlighted gold* $32,000 is on the line. B is your final answer. A huge risk on this one I have to say. ...... *the drums start to intensify* But it pays off! *Correct Answer/Win $125,000 plays as the lights in the studio come up* Jimmy Carter actually made it a campaign promise at the time of his election and he came through. $125,000 is now yours.... Three questions from the million! Let's play. *Lights Down $250,000 plays as the lights grown darker in the studio* A Quarter Million on the line if you get this right. Wrong here and you fall down to $32,000. No more lifelines. Here it is. *Think Music $250,000 plays on the studio*

Hehe, a member from these boards asked me this for a preview question once, so it's stuck with me.
Very thankful 34 isn't up there, or I probably go on trigger happy instinct for the 2/3rds needed elsewhere, which you'd round up from 33 1/3. As it is, the only one of those applies any sort of amendment number is 3/4ths, which is 37.5, rounded up to 38. Ergo, C, 38 states, final answer.

*Final Answer: $125,000 plays on the speakers as the drums start to roll* C is locked in. $91,000 on the line if you get this one wrong... Three away from the million. Not wasting anytime with that last one... you're actually RIGHT $250,000! *Right Answer/Win: $250,000 plays on the speakers as the audience lights turn back on* The US Constitution requires that 3/4ths of the states ratify an amendment before it is applied to all. And since we have 50 states, not including territories, we have 37 and a half ... or 38 as you said. Good job! Two away from the million... can you believe it! You're at $250,000... the next question, *holds out the $500,000 check* For half a million dollars. If you get wrong now, you fall back to $32,000 losing $218,000. For the half million... LET'S PLAY! *Lights Down/Let's Play: $500,000 plays as the lighting comes down in the studio* Best of luck Prizes, and here it is.

Okay, wow. I -think- I can reason this through. Not sure, but it I think the Solomon Islands, like Comoros, and the Republic of Vanuatu are all Eastern and Southern only. Based on process of elimination, I'll play a bit of a risk here, and make A, Kiribati, my final answer.

*Final Answer $500,000 plays as A is highlighted* Answer A is locked in.... $218,000 on the line. And you're betting it on Kiribati. *drum rolls intensify as retched pulls up a check from the podium* Well... with no lifelines, you're going for the Million! *Correct Answer $500,000 plays as the lights in the audience comes up* And now... we have arrived. Prizes. No lifelines, no helps... Just you and one more question for $1,000,000.... You've been on a roll since the $32,000 question. And now it's time to lower the lights once again for the last time this session. Let's play Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? with Prizes for $1,000,000! *The lights go down in the studio audience as the familiar heartbeats play throughout the speakers* Since you are such an aficionado of the Million Dollar Questions, this situation should be familiar for you. For $1,000,000, no lifelines to use... here it is...

Assembly is just reaching to me for some reason, but I can't put a finger on why, it just sounds familiar in this context. No real good reason, with a question of this risk? It's not worth it. I'm going to walk with my $500,000; final decision.
And yes, Assembly would have been my answer, had my risk taking tendencies a touch higher.

*The lights come up in the studio as the think music stops playing...* Final answer to walk away but congratulations... $500,000 to Prizes! You were leaning towards assembly language... And... You would've been correct... Super Mario Brothers was written 30 years ago in the 6502 Assembly language ... BY HAND! You can't believe how difficult that is.... But Prizes it has been a treat to play with you. But still $500,000 is nothing to shake off. *Retched reaches for the $500,000 check to hand over to Prizes as she waves to the audience while walking as "Contestant Exits The Stage" plays* $500,000! Well folks that will do it for this, the 49th session of the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire RPG.... Stay tuned for the announcement regarding the 50th RPG! For myself and everyone who made this possible, thanks for joining us and congratulations to Prizes for 500,000! Until next time End Credits: retched for Question Writer, Second game Host Prizes , Contestant millionairefan1 for Contestant @paolo16gula for Lifeline Result Writer ben for original segment host.
