Hello, I am French, WWTBAM France was stopped since 2016, I'm disappointed, I would like Hot seat was broadcast in France or than license was free to product an personnal version of this game, what do you think ?

FR : Pourquoi être déçu ? Il est vrai que ce jeu manque sur TF1, mais peux t-on réellement dire que QVGDM est réellement stoppé dans notre pays ? (Il ne faut pas croire ce que dit Wikipédia selon moi, aucune source prouve l'arrêt définitif de l'émission). Pour moi, les primes avec des célébrités ont tué le jeu, tout comme en Angleterre. De plus nous n'avons plus eu un seul candidat "lambda" depuis 2010-2011, suite à de mauvaises audiences.
La version "Hot Seat" ? Personnellement, je ne suis pas très fan de ce format, il n'y a plus le côté drama du jeu, et c'est essentiel pour une émission de ce type. Autant rester sur le format classique en France. J'opterais pour la réintégration d'un 4ème joker après la question 7, et une mise à jour pour la pyramide des gains.

EN : Why disappointed ? It's true, this game is missing on TF1, but can we say that WWTBAM is really stopped in our country ? (To me, don't trust on what Wikipedia says, there's no official source proving that the show has ended). Special primes with celebrities, like in the U.K. has killed the show in France. Plus, since 2010-2011, we haven't seen any "lambda" contestant due to bad viewers score.
"Hot Seat" version ? I'm not a fan of this format, the drama is less present on the game play, and drama is essential for a show like WWTBAM. I prefer the classic format for our country. Maybe, reintegrate a fourth lifeline after question 7, and an updated money tree.

In my opinion, they ought to bring back the original format, because Hot Seat sucks big time! On its own, or compared to the Australian version of Hot Seat? Did the French version have loads of celebrity specials? I think it's dangerous to bring in only celebrities to play Millionaire. When a game show features nothing but celebrities, that tells me the show is already failing. But based on past experiences with bringing in only celebrities, I would think a show is likely to die more quickly that way. |

Some news about "Qui veut gagner des millions ?" ...
2 days ago, on Europe 1 (a french radio channel), Jean-Pierre Foucault was the special guest to celebrate his 50 years of career.
This is a recap :
"Dans l’émission ‘Le Grand direct des médias’ du mardi 21 mars sur Europe 1, Thomas Joubert recevait Jean-Pierre Foucault pour fêter ses 50 ans de carrières. Lors de l’émission, ils ont repassé l’extrait audio de l’émission ‘Qui veut gagner des milions’ diffusée le 27 août 2004 ou Marie, la candidate gagne les 1 millions d’euros. C’est la seule fois où le million a été gagné pour la version française de l’émission. Jean-Pierre Foucault, nous apprend qu’ Ara Aprikian directeur des programmes de TF1, lui a dit que ‘Qui veut gagner des millions’ va revenir à l’antenne avec son animateur emblématique . On a envie de dire à Ara Aprikian c’est votre dernier mot ? Ce sera un plaisir de retrouver Jean-Pierre à l’animation de ce jeu. A suivre…"
To be more clearer :
During the show, they've playing the audio sample from the August 27, 2004 broadcast when Marie was the first € 1 Million winner in France.
Then, Jean-Pierre Foucault said : Ara Aprikian (the new TF1 program director, since Febr. 23, 2016) said to him that "Who wants to be a millionaire" will certainly back in access prime time (?) on TF1, with the same emblematic french host.
This is all I know for now.

Hello, I'm Caropage and I'm new on the forums. I'm french WWTBAM fan. A few days ago, Jean-Pierre Foucault announced the return of QVGDM special Celebrity. But, Jean-Pierre Foucault will host the first show and the next show will be host by Camille Combal, new host on TF1.

FR : Camille Combal a plutôt bien démarrer son aire de QVGDM mais le nouveau joker pourquoi Feeling de Camille, ils aurait du respecter le nom original "Ask the Host" qui donne "Avis de l'animateur..."
EN : Camille Combal has started rather well version of WWTBAM but the new lifeline why Feeling de Camille, they should have respected the original name "Ask the Host"
