Oh ok cool, thanks for that 😀 I guess time will tell as to what will happen with Hot Seat. I do believe they should've incorporated the ATA lifeline, at least it would've made it more interesting. Ask a friend is just stupid lol That's how ask a friend is supposed to be, the Plus One. (Just they're bringing in bad friends...) I REALLY hate the rule that if you eve look in their direction, it counts as an automatic use. Really? I thought contestants aren't allowed to turn around during the game. I recall when they had Ask a Friend for a brief period last year, when they wanted to use it, it would immediately cut to the friend saying their thoughts on the question.

I have to look it up but it's on one of the earlier 2017 first 10 episodes. One of the contestants calls for the clock to be stopped on a question and passes their check back. While they were considering it, they turned around and looked at their friend and Eddie went "Oh no! *contestant puzzled* The judge said by you turning around, we count that as using your Ask A Friend lifeline." And of course the friend didn't know the answer and sad faces galore.

Eddie's face after he told her she wasn't going to be disqualified was hilarious. If the lifeline didn't exist, based on the rules I think she would have been disqualified, correct?

I imagine without the lifelines, the rule for looking back is consistent with every standard version of Millionaire internationally. Sometimes the host will remind the contestant not to look back, but if the standard penalty is disqualification, that's how it should work on Hot Seat.

You're told NOT to look behind you during your episode taping. Doing so could render you to be disqualified from the game.

Thanks for sharing that clip, retched. I was unaware that situation had occurred and it's interesting how they handled it under that format. In other news, that clip shows why Eddie is one of the most memorable WWTBAM hosts. He was able to get a lot of laughs out of a very tense situation.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but that rule is on the US show as well. If you look at your Plus One, you have to use him/her.

I suppose that is fair because their friend could just give the answer away so I do think u should forfeit that lifeline or be disqualified

Now I wonder how they implemented the no looking back rule for those contestants in the early days who didn't bring companions to their tapings.

Just saw a video on the Millionaire Hot Seat Facebook page asking for people to register to go on the show. I assume it was also aired on TV as I saw a small snippet of the A Current Affair promo. Must be getting desperate? Also I can't quite tell what music they used, but I liked it! It was like a remixed classic version. www.facebook.com/9HotSeat/

Cause I just clicked that link and I'm getting an error message? (Or is Nine's Facebook page region locked too?)
