...false. The ratings weren't THAT bad compared as what they are now, and what they're going to be (they're replacing The Dating Game by our so-crazy-it's-unwatchable version of Family Feud/Fortunes).
The way I see it : Another come-back for Deal or No Deal, and followed (somehow) by Millionaire. All we can hope is that we'll never see Millionaire in that dreaded 6.30pm slot again.
Edit : I least I hope it will be this way... now that I've seen the piece of information I haven't seen before writing this, I'd like to mention that they said Deal or No Deal wouldn't be coming back either, and it came back after 1-2 years. And when the host said he didn't want to host another series of it... he was hosting the new series.
