The TV phenomenon which has been aired in over 100 countries, watched by hundreds of millions, given away billions and changed the lives of thousands celebrates the big 2-0 today! The show was massive in the States, Australia, India, the Middle East and of course its birthplace the UK. However for some other countries it didn't see the success like the above countries.... CHINA. Not surprising for a country which has been associated with communism for decades. The Chinese version did not have civilians playing and instead all the contestants were celebrities, okay that's not such a big issue - many gameshows around the world have celebs as a feature of the game (Match Game, Hollywood Squares, Celebrity Name Game etc.). The main problem is, like most other things in life, the government; as the Chinese government have very strict laws when it comes to television, the laws state that TV shows have to be inspiring and uplifting, and because of this only prizes up to 100,000 Chinese yuan may be given away on game shows, and to get round this rule they only give away 10% to the contestants and the other 90% is given away to charity. Is that even fair??? Another problem is the branding of the show, here's proof: Really??? Who DESERVES to be a...ummm...sort of a Millionaire??? That is just so messed up? How can you DESERVE to be a millionaire especially if you're not giving away a million anyway!?!?!? GEORGIA. (the country, dimwit)
We now move on to Georgia, the country which has a ripoff flag of England. I think you know what's coming since we've discussed this before First the prize. It's 20,000 Georgian laris, not even close, even worse considering its only 8000 US dollars, what a puny top prize, especially for a show designed to have the high-stakes feel. Second, uhhh...I think we'll have the video below do the talking... Oh come oooon...were they even trying??? More to come soon

The set for the Georgia version looks like a knock-off Barbie doll toy set scaled up and built with no instructions and references.. like come on.. TWO HALVES OF THE LIGHTS ARCHES ARE MISSING as you can see in Logie's video, and two of them are literally sandwiched with the contestants.
Also, speaking of other international Millionaire versions... Let's just say Vietnam (yes, my country) has a bit of a runner up..
As the problem is the top prize, which it currently stays at 150,000,000 dongs. As were the previous top prizes were 50,000,000 dongs, 100,000,000 dongs and 120,000,000 dongs respectively. And.. if you convert the current top prize to like USD, it's roughly converted to... $6,585..
And it's even more ironic by the fact that Georgia had a better top prize than Vietnam even though Georgia had a hecked up set.
But despite the top prize, I really think my own country's version is really decent (even though there's no FFF now after the host transition), and plus with a fourth lifeline called "Hỏi tổ tư vấn ở trường quay" or I would like to call it: "The People Speak" for English speaking sakes.
Yeah yeah, Vietnam is not the only country who uses this fourth lifeline, but hey, it adds up. Just call this a honorable mention if you want, really.

Not at all, unless you count Phương Thanh who answered all 15 questions and got the prize of "work as an editor of Ai là triệu phú for one day".
But.. it was in VTV's 43rd anniversary special broadcast, so she doesn't count.

i hate thailand version the most. and i don't care it was unlicenced IT SUCKED!
anyway: vietnamese set is done really well, vietnam even introduced "Ask one of the 3 audience" lifeline. but the grand prize is even worse than china or georgia.

(US)
- £23,695 (GBP)
- €26,590 (EUR)

I do not like the Russian version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire. Scenography, graphic and music design is (in my opinion) poor.
Another weak version of WWTBAM is the Kazakh edition. Problems with a large screen on which the logo is displayed, mixing two soundtracks (classic and rave) or episode editing problems are just one of the many problems that occur there.

Mixing classic with rave does not make the biggest sense. It just sounds strange. It is a pity that this is how it looks, although in Sweden it is generally better than in Kazakhstan.

The worst version in my opinion is the Ghanaian version. Instead of "Who wants to be a Millionaire?", they change the name to "Who wants to be RICH?". Oh dear... The set looks cheap... and so is the top prize. But I must say their prize is still better than my country's, which is 150,000,000 vnd(Not even close to $7000). ...While my country's version is very decent, the current top prize isn't.

The worst version in my opinion is the: 1. AFGHANISTAN VERSION AND... څوك غواري چې شي میلیونر؟ / کی ميخواهد میلیونر شود؟Studio looks very poor. 2. ASIA VERSIONS OF WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE?These versions is very ugly, poor and I don't like these versions. Examples:

Nigeria will always make me laugh when it comes to set design and graphics...

In my opinion, the worst WWTBAM version would be Kyrgyzstan (boring, awful graphics, small set, messed up cues) and Hong Kong 2018 (boring, mostly contestants can't even get to tiers 2, bad set)

Didn't you learn a lesson from how bad the Swedish version sounds because of the same reason?
