Per BuzzerBlog: “So it seems like 3 lifelines (50:50, Phone A Friend, Ask the Host). Your expert/partner can help on the first 10 questions (up to $32K) like the old days. In the final 5 questions you can trade one of your lifelines to ask your expert one final time.” Brad Rutter is one of the experts, apparently! The trading lifeline thing reminds me of how the old switch the question thing used to work in the UK if I remember correctly. Except that might have been throughout the game, and of course you couldn't use it otherwise. That sounds really fun

That did happen for the celebrity specials from 2003 until the clock was introduced in 2010.

I saw these trailers. I just hope the show opens up to civilians after celebrities are through. I've waited for the return of Millionaire to ABC on Prime Time for many years.

I just don't see how they could go through all of this just to only bring back the show for 8 episodes. There has to be plans for a regular series. |

If it's only every few months like they do with Jeremy Clarkson in Britain, that's fine, too. It's a dream of mine to sit in that hot seat and try my shot at winning the million. I honestly hope that they do bring it back full time. I think it could work well as a part of the Summer Fun & Games block, possibly replacing Match Game on Wednesdays. Seeing how both PYL and CS are big money game shows, Millionaire would fit in really well with those two.

I'm curious why they're going with celebrities first when the excessive use of celebrities led to the decline in interest.
Don't get me wrong, I intend to watch every episode, but is that what they hope will bring viewers in?
