Jane Fonda, I think we can all agree, was great. Not too much banter, not too much deliberation. I found her constantly asking for her 'plus one' (that's what I'm calling the in-studio friend the contestants bring on) after the $32,000 mark somewhat cringy, but then again, she's not used to the game, so I'll give her a pass. What annoyed me about her run was her walking away at the quarter million dollar question after 50:50 left her with what was obviously a wrong answer (provided you understand that time zones work and where Iceland is in relation to New York and North America in general) and what was obviously the correct answer (I suppose this proves that the 50:50 in this version may actually be random, because if I was in charge of which answers to remove, I would've removed Reykjavik and kept Rio de Janiero; keeping Iceland made the question ridiculously easy, at least in my opinion) and even after her plus one was decently sure that it was Lima and not Reykjavik. I mean, I don't know. I get that "we all have gaps in our knowledge" and it was a lot of money to lose for charity if she had gotten it wrong, but it still felt like a fairly easy question for a quarter million and I felt she should've gone for it. I think this is just my disappointment at still not having seen a $500,000 question and beyond and the consequent missing out on 'good television', but still. I don't know. Maybe in her head, Iceland is where Newfoundland is and thus much closer to New York in her head (which would make it conceivable that they share the same time zone). I was watching this episode the other night and was screaming at the television for Jane to go for it... I really had a good feeling she was going to make it to the million. One of the better celebrity contestants in the show's history, because she was there for BUSINESS... get this money for charity! On the other hand... Will Forte was a mess within the first five questions... that was a rough watch. Hopefully we’ll see someone going for $500,000 tonight. Jane Fonda is my favorite so far.

I saw last week's episode twice, and I have to say, it seems like Millionaire flies by really fast these days. It especially helps when you FaceTime a friend.
I really started slow on Hannibal's questions after the $1,000 question, and then I got hot and cold the rest of his run. It was as if I knew the answer to one question, and no clue on the next. Rinse, wash and repeat.
The current celebrity at the moment, I've known all of her questions except for the RISE one. She's in good shape so far, but we'll see how she does tomorrow. What is tomorrow going to be, the fifth or sixth episode already? Where has the time gone?
I want to point out a stark difference between the Jeremy Clarkson version and this one. The Clarkson version in Britain asks straight general knowledge questions. This version with Jimmy Kimmel forces you to think about things, which is a nice challenge. So, if you don't know it, you can probably figure it out with context clues. I think it is an interesting twist on Millionaire the questions that have been written and the way they have been written.
Also, what do we think of Jimmy as host? He's more suspenseful than Regis, per se. He isn't the first to do the fakeouts, such as Meredith. He doesn't drag it out like Mino Monta or Eddie McGuire, but in my opinion, the King of the Fakeouts has to be Frank Edoho from Nigeria. I think he does build a bit tension, though I'm hoping he will get more seasoned as well from that perspective.

On tonight’s episode, we get a brand new Patricia Heaton moment with Dr. Phil. This time, the editors decided to have a little fun with it!

I played the app for the first time tonight. It was intense. I got 11 questions correct before missing on question 12. They’re tough.

Just watched today’s episode. Did anyone else notice Jimmy Kimmel being very passive-aggressive towards Dr.Phil? I understand that they aren’t fans of each other, but Jimmy just made it more awkward with his comments on Dr. Phil. It felt like neither of them wanted to be there. Also, both Catherine and Dr. Phil took forever answering their questions. I have to say, this has been my least favorite episode so far. I hope they don’t do celebrity episodes in the future. Or if they do, they only do one-off episodes and don’t turn it into a full series. Also, I just want to make it clear that this is just my opinion, and I respect whatever your opinion is on the current US Millionaire.

Just a courtesy reminder, spoilers are asked not to be posted until 24 hours after it aired. Hopefully this isn’t classified as such. I’m not sure what it is or isn’t. Anyway, tonight’s episode by far had the toughest questions of the run so far. One week, they’re relatively easy, and they’re difficult the next.

If you don’t state the amount they won, then it’s not a spoiler.

Alright. Thanks for clarifying that. It just seems there could be a lot of gray areas in that regard.

Honestly, this had to be the toughest set of questions this week, in my opinion.
Catherine had some tough questions in the higher tier, and I figured she might see the $1,000,000 question, but to no avail. I'd have had no idea on the $500,000 question. I never even heard of that island in the Pacific.
I was FaceTiming one friend and texting another. Both of them were expressing to me their hatred of Dr. Phil, not to mention people on Twitter were dunking on him. Nevertheless, he's going to the higher amount on Thursday. I was never great at Math, but could've gotten it if I took my time on that question. I also wasn't too sure on the Canada question, but I would've guessed Ontario since New York is by Niagara Falls and there's a lot of states on the East Coast, plus Detroit is very close to Ontario, too.

Awesome news! The ratings spike after the time slot change, coupled with the fact that it’s a Covid-friendly production, made this a no-brainer.
Congrats to all involved! Here’s hoping for non-celebrity episodes in our near future!

Dr Phil is pretty well known to be kind of a really crappy person, so I was expecting Jimmy to have fun there and I don't mind him being the butt of a joke. Wasn't expecting him to basically brandish a verbal machete and start taking hacks at Dr Phil whenever he could, though.
