There’s some news about the upcoming season floating around Twitter, most of it coming from Buzzerblog: - Celebrity contestants will include Zachary Quinto, Tiffany Haddish, David Chang, Cedric the Entertainer (who acknowledges his tenure as host) Karamo Brown, Julie Bowen, Thomas Middleditch, Rebel Wilson, Ray Romano, Joel McHale, and Amanda Peet.
- Non-celebrity contestants will also be guaranteed $32,000.
- Non-celebrity contestants will also have unfettered access to a companion for the first ten questions.
I’m probably a terrible person for being disappointed in the last two bullets, but that’s unfortunate news in terms of the show’s drama and tension level.
I definitely do agree on the $32,000... I’m not a fan of that at all. However for the +1/Expert thing, I don’t think they were willing to modify some parts of the set just for that... Also it makes sense because both the civilian and celebrity runs were filmed during the same days. + I don’t see why civilians should have a different ruleset compared to celebrities...

IDK, maybe I'm the only one in support of the 32k being guaranteed to the civilians. It would just seem rude to me that they would go...
"Okay, Nurse who's risked your life for very little pay, you get $1,000 because you got a question about a Netflix show wrong, but this charity about birds gets $32,000 because a more important person was playing for them."
Just seems wrong.

It's kind of painting themselves into a corner. Once you decide that a celebrity playing for charity should be guaranteed $32,000, you kind of have to do the same for the "feel-good story" contestants as well. And it's not like they can go backwards and take away the $32,000 guarantee from the celebrities.

I guess I just I’d just like to know that their intent, at some point, is to play a normal game again. Otherwise, there’s just not a lot on the line and that will kill the show before it ever has a chance to get started.
Or maybe just revive the daytime version with normal rules and reserve prime time for the feel-good moments. I don’t know, I’m being sour when I’m honestly just grateful to have the show back, but at some point I’d like the game to mean something again.

I really would like to see how big of a moment you know what is going to be. Sure, whichever celebrity does it, the first celebrity to do so, will be a big deal, but hosts reactions often count, too.
The way Jimmy tells the celebrity they’ve won doesn’t come across as exciting as the way Jeremy Clarkson was excited for Donald Fear.

The episode has aired! What did everyone think? Here are my initial thoughts:
-The extra LED lighting looks great! Much better than empty audience seats. -The improved money tree graphics were definitely an upgrade. Blue fits better with this version if the show. -The US set really pops on camera in a way that not even the UK version has achieved. It’s a masterful design. -The video floor at one point showed all question marks. Did that happen last season? It’s a nice touch since the logo only has dollar signs now. -The recaps and commercial tosses still feature a smorgasbord of WWTBAM music, but tonight they also used Clock Era music. I couldn’t help but smile. It’s still so very good. -Tiffany Haddish is not great at multiple choice questions, but she got a great reaction when she pulled off her wig. -It was great to see a non-celebrity contestant in the Hot Seat again! -The companions were used as-needed tonight instead of constantly for every question. I don’t know if that was conscious or not, but it made that aspect of the game much less invasive. -The tribute to Regis at the end was touching. Kimmel has such obvious affection for Regis. I’m glad that they took time to celebrate Regis tonight.

I was puzzled when I saw the klaxon sounded early tonight, but wow, what a tribute that was to Regis, the ultimate host, if you ask me. It showed some of his most memorable moments, and it was so touching how they did that montage. There are some people you just can’t believe are gone, and he’s one of them. I don’t think we’d be watching this show tonight without him.
That said, Tiffany Haddish wasn’t quite as annoying as Nikki Glaser was, but if Nikki Glaser is the most annoying contestant to ever sit in the hot seat, (In my fervent opinion, she was), then Tiffany Haddish has strong contention for second place. I hated the pacing with her in the hot seat. There must’ve been a good six or seven minutes that elapsed before the first question was asked.
I’ll continue to watch Millionaire no matter what, but as I watch Game 7 of the NLCS while I type this, and as the Rams are taking on the 49ers right now, how is it savvy TV sense to run something to compete in Primetime with Sunday Night Football during this time of year?
Keep in mind, assuming it’s still happening this time next Sunday, the World Series could potentially be clinched as well. I thought they did a great job having it on Thursdays in its time slot this spring, and that’s how it should be unless and until it’s proven not to work in that slot.

Not gonna lie; I hella love Tiffany Hadish; Tuca & Bertie is my fav show of all time. So she didn't bother me, i was just excited to see her on a show I love so much. I understand why others are unimpressed, but i'm delighted ahaha~

Can you please send me the first episode of Millionaire from Season 2 last night with Jimmy Kimmel on Google Drive?

I would also like to point out that, at the 22 minute mark with commercials, I heard a 2008 Clock cue. Also, I agree with you guys that Tiffany, though not Glazer-bad, is still not a very good contestant in terms of personality.

Did anyone else notice that during the Regis tribute, they decided to redo the question lozenge lines on the classic clips for some reason?

I think it’s a different copy they used.
