I see it as important to watch to prop up ratings for it to stay on the air. That's not how the ratings work. May I ask how they do, then?

That's not how the ratings work. May I ask how they do, then? I was a broadcasting major in college and a Nielsen family for a year, this video is very accurate. Ratings are really skewed and don't account for every *single* person watching a show. It's a huge guesstimate.

Tape dates for the new season have been released. Two sessions per day, from June 7 to 9. Not sure how many episodes that would amount to, but still worth mentioning.

I would put a safe bet on 10-15 episodes, given the number of tape dates and the time between them. Taking the syndicated production into account (and the difference in length), I went to see shows for an entire day, morning and afternoon. There were eight half hour shows filmed in a single day back then, so if they stick to a similar schedule, I would guess there are about two to four shows a day being taped. There's no way they would get through four shows from 11:15 AM to 3:30 PM, for example, so assuming two to four shows per day puts the total average at about 10-15 episodes, give or take. Of course, I could be completely and totally wrong, but we'll see!

I am considering flying out to see the show. Is anybody else planning to go? I am just imagining how exciting it is going to be with a prime time audience for the first time since 2009.

I had tickets to the 2020 run and was mid-flight when the taping was cancelled and I had to return home on the next flight. I'd still love to go...

If I fly in is there any reason they will not let me attend all the shows? I see on the ticket it says one session per day but syndicated let me watch as many as I wanted. Just wondering if anyone knows before I pay big money to fly out.

Just wondering if anyone knows before I pay big money to fly out. If you have a ticket to the early showing, they usually let the waiting audience in line for the next show in first and then will allow anyone from the first show to remain if there is room (you have to notify an audience coordinator as they escort everyone out, and there are no guarantees).

Hi everyone,
Just got back from day 1 of taping. Had a great time, won’t spoil anything for others. Two shows per taping.
There were a lot of paid actors there which I did not care for and On Camera Audiences were giving them better seats (where they would be seen on camera) than some of the real fans. Wasn’t impressed with OCA this time around but overall a great time and the show people were great.

I attended as well, it was indeed fun (and long). If anyone has specific questions about it (other than which celebrities and results) send me a message! Don’t want to spoil those who don’t want to know anything at all!

I couldn't get "priority" tickets for tomorrow so just have the line vouchers. Do you happen to know if they were able to accommodate everyone? And if so were they able to go to both sessions?

How was the overall vibe of this version with an audience in place? Did it feel more like proper Millionaire than the episodes filmed during the lockdown?

If you arrive half an hour before the time on the ticket, you'll be fine. The "priority" doesn't seem to matter at all, they don't even really look at the ticket, just a quick glance to make sure you have one. I didn't go to both sessions in one day but I saw other people who did. They are struggling to get audience, that's why there's such a high number of paid background actors in attendance.
As for the vibe, it's definitely a mix of the old and the new, but more of the new. Jimmy hosts the same way he did in Covid, which is good or bad depending on your preferences. The music and lighting cues are the same as 2020, which is to say not super tight or always accurate (a few missed "lights down" cues). One interesting change is they have removed the second milestone win cue and replaced it with the $32,000 non-milestone win cue and lights-down from the UK version, even though $32,000 IS always a milestone in the US.
The celebrities were really funny most of the time, and the game itself works much better than the Covid seasons. They are a pair of celebrities playing together, and having to agree on their answer, not one celebrity looking back for help at their more knowledgeable friend behind them, which means there is tension all the way up the tree, not just unlimited "gimmies" until $32,000. So I'd say of all the celebrity specials even going back to Regis, it's definitely got the most tension in it. They're playing for charity, but they're actually playing the game properly (most of them, anyway).

Hm... that thing with the wrong music on $32k is weird and slightly annoying, but oh well! Other than that, it sounds like a season worth watching! I'm so glad there's finally an audience! Also, I've seen a short clip on instagram, and they seemingly placed the stairs right next to the pillars now, which gives the set a slightly more classic feel!
Speaking of the audience... what about the lifelines? Did Ask the Audience replace Ask the Host or do they now have four lifelines like the UK?
