One thing I found in common between this question and the question about European and American music in the previous RFG was that they forced me to waste a lifeline. And just like last time, I'll phone a friend.

According to a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, how would Paul Revere secretly signal the lanterns during his famed midnight ride? A: one if by land, one if by sea B: one if by land, two if by sea C: two if by land, one if by sea D: one if by land, three if by sea

To be honest, I rarely read literary works (unless it's the work that I learned in Literature class), so I'll try to reason. A is certainly not true, because that would be a nonsense signal. It is unlikely that D is the answer, since people will rarely signal something with three signals when they can do with two. Only B and C left ... but I think B would suit reality better than C. For all of the above, B is my final answer.
