Serb here, can confirm this is legit. So far not a lot of specifics besides the classic 15 question format, a 5 million dinar top prize (~45000€, which frankly isn't much) and 50:50, Switch and Phone a Friend as lifelines, which means there probably won't be an audience. It's going to air Autumn Monday - Thursday, 4 times a week. Edit: The logo at the end of the trailer is from the Olga van der Brandt graphics package. The trailer itself features several popular Nova S shows (Veče sa Ivanom Ivanovićem and 24 minuta sa Zoranom Kesićem, both late night comedy shows, and Među nama is an afternoon current affairs program). The slogan used is also the same as was used during the 2000s, "Najpopularniji kviz na svetu" ("The World's Most Popular Gameshow"), so it seems they're really aiming at the nostalgic audience.

nova.rs/zabava/showbiz/zasto-je-kviz-zelite-li-da-postanete-milioner-najpopularniji-na-svetu/New article promoting Milioner. Mostly a recap of the previous one (but going a bit more into the international history of the show), except for 2 things: 1) The format is definitely the classic format, as the article mentions that the format hasn't changed (since the previous iteration that ended in 2011) 2) There actually might be a full-on 10 player Fastest Finger First, as the writer of the article explicitly mentions that there are 10 players who participate in the Fastest Finger First round. Pretty easy deduction when NOVA mentions they haven't strayed from the original format.

They're probably going to put the Stracham's music back on, so if that's the case, they're aiming for me too. Because if they put in the lot: 15 questions, 10 contestants and the old music. So there in this case it will be for me the best version of this year. All that's needed is to call Ivan Zeljković, who is in Dubai, to put on his long-awaited host costume.

There are rumors circulating social media according to which he moved to Dubai because of a 200-something-thousand euro debt he never paid off. He's also been accused of being indebted to at least several of the competitors of the first version of Milioner (the one that aired from 2002 to 2006 on BK TV) for apparently not paying them their winnings. One potential host rumor that I've been hearing is Dejan "Mega Deki" Pantelić, who's known for hosting several popular gameshows (the most notorious of which was Visoki Napon, a homegrown effort to go against Milioner by public broadcaster RTS), but the problem is he's been in really poor shape for the last couple years (cancer), and he's stated a few times that he's kinda done with gameshows. NOVA only mentions that the host will be "unexpected", so I'm not jumping to any conclusions there.

I am surprised to learn this, yet the show was able to continue on other channels, although it was less better than at the time on BK. But regarding the debts he has on contestants who didn't receive the money won, it was not those who could not be broadcast after April 24, 2006?

Wait a minute, how come you can gauge a foreign Millionaire version (to you that is, aa your name definitely doesn't sound Serbian) as less better? Stop larping, I honestly doubt you even lived in Serbia during the 2000s.

And I think you misunderstood what I said, I prefer the BK version than the version of B92 and Prva.
I never say that the Serbian version is bad. It turned out that a lot of people complained about the show, among other things about the host. And some even preferred that he be replaced by Tarik Filipović (the host of the Croatian version). And I even said the same about the BK era to one of the first contestant of the Serbian version, Dragan Brenesel.

And what becomes of the host of the Serbian version of Questions pour un Champion (Pitanja za šampiona) Ilija Kovačić? He could very well animate the 2022 return of Milioner.

He could very well animate the 2022 return of Milioner. * the Serbian version of Going for Gold Dunno about him, he likely retired. Serbian TV suffered a massive drought in the amount of gameshows during the 2010s, and many of the hosts retired. The only game show host from that time period that's still active to this day is Ivan Ivanović (he hosted the local version of Cash Cab) who's been killing it with his late night show for 12 years straight. Again, I personally say that we should stop second-guessing and wait for the announcement.

Time to bump this thread. A somewhat pissed off applicant revealed on his twitter that the taping of at least this season is taking place in Bulgaria, in the studio of Stani Bogat. The contestants are coming in tours lasting 2-5 days, with 4 episodes being filmed each day. This also explains why the production is using Switch instead of Ask The Audience - they're not bringing in a full audience, just the contestants, the host and I'd say their PAFs. Most of Serbia isn't that far away from Bulgaria, with the southeast in particular being closer to Sofia than Belgrade, the capital, where all the classic-era episodes were shot. Still, pretty big hassle to go there just for Milioner, so I understand the contestant's pain.

The Austrians have been doing it for 22 years now, as they’ve never had their own set. Plus, the Serbian version is not the first nor the last one to be recorded in a different country. Hell, even the first season of the Bulgarian version was recorded outside of Bulgaria.

arman I guess the people were just expecting more than what they got. Typical Balkan mentality. However, it seems that NOVA S is really trying to cut as much corners as possible at least until Milioner proves itself to be profitable. No set to be built, no audience to be flown/bussed in, the top prize is still the same 5000000 dinara even though the dinar lost almost half it's value against the euro since 2007...

I’m Croatian, so I know exactly what you mean. 😁 My guess is that they will hire some locals from Bulgaria to just sit there and clap, but there most likely will be a few people from Serbia as well. It was like that in a few other versions. By the way, the first batch of tapings starts on August 28th and lasts until September 4th. That’s when the first 20 episodes are going to be recorded. The next 20 are going to be recorded during the second batch, which will take place from September 19th until September 27th.
