*** Q9 Final Answer cue plays *** The audience have been wrong before at this stage. You did still have 2 other lifelines, but decided not to use them. I shouldn't really say this, but I'm contractually obliged to create tension as host... It did just randomly occur to me how like a rocket, a hovercraft is the only one of the choices which travels above the ground or water.
*** Slight audible murmuring can be head from the audience ***
*** Host glances down at his computer screen ***
(Click below text to open spoiler){Well didmychores, I'd like to tell you the audience is right...}
*** Host pauses briefly before revealing... *** And of course they are!
You've just won £16,000!
*** Q9 Correct Answer cue plays *** *** Audience applauds excitedly (while breathing a sigh of relief), before the £16,000 lights down cue plays *** It was a steam locomotive designed and built by Robert Stephenson in 1829, and achieved a top speed of 30 mph while winning the Rainhill Trials.
At this crucial stage of the game, you are only 6 away from £1 MILLION. But as the drops begin to get steeper, as do the difficulty of questions. You do still have those couple of lifelines remaining, so it was good you trusted the audience enough to save 50:50 and STQ back. Sounds good you feel confident enough to continue without setting your 2nd Safety Net just yet. That could prove a fruitful decision later in the game. A right answer to the next question will take you to £32,000, although a wrong answer would cost you £15,000 at this point.

You sound very confident, and so you should be... You've just won £32,000!
*** £32,000 Correct Answer cue plays, as the set turns gold and the audience loudly applauds ***
*** Lights down £32,000 cue plays, before the set turns a darker suspenseful blue ***
As I think you'll know, the plot revolves around Viktor who is trapped in New York JFK airport, after being unable to enter the USA due to conflict in his home country. It so happens to be one of my favourite movies, so I'd have certainly known this answer too if we had Ask The Host available today!
Sure thing to keep going without setting your 2nd Safety Net from this position. That helps you keep up the momentum, and sometimes there can be questions even at these harder levels which are easily known.
Just a reminder though how a wrong answer next would cost you £31,000. Still with those 2 lifelines on hand, here is Question 11 for £64,000: *** Strachan Q11 theme begins playing ***

*** Q11 Final Answer cue plays *** I can reveal how both of these are active volcanoes in Italy. If we asked the audience at this point, our live studio poll says 58% of them would've agreed with you.
*** Host is silent for several seconds before saying... ***
(Click below text to open spoiler){You had £32,000...} That's the wrong answer! *** Q11 Wrong Answer cue plays *** *** Audience sighs in disappointment, as the set turns a bright red, before returning to standard lighting *** The correct answer is Mount Etna. I'm terribly sorry, but you've just lost £31,000. You'll probably not want to hear this now, but Mount Etna is active stratovolcano located on the east coast of the Italian region of Sicily, and is 3,329 metres (10,922 ft) in height. Stromboli is also an active volcano island off the southern coast of Italy, but in contrast only rises to 924 metres (3,031 ft). It's one of those hindsight things now about your 2nd Safety Net, and also having the STQ lifeline. Of course, a 50/50 chance was much more probable than a 25% guess had you got another question without any other lifelines remaining. So quite a difficult decision, and the gamble didn't come on of this occasion.
Still you played a very good game, and you do still leave here £1,000 better off.
Thanks for giving it a good run didmychores, and unfortunate there it didn't quite work out for a bigger win this time around.
Give it up for didmychores, everyone! *** Audience applauds in consolatory fashion as the contestant leaves theme plays ***

To recap, we first had some Fastest Finger fumblings, then Kirbyplayers made a decent start up to £1,000 but wasn't quite able to progress further. Then in a roller coaster ride up the money ladder, didmychores made a strong ascent before getting stuck at Mount Etna, and ended up climbing down to only £1,000 as well. Join us next time with 10 brand new contestants, on the greatest quiz show in the world, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire! Goodnight! *** Audience claps as the studio lighting transitions into the end credits theme, while the closing music plays ***
