Fan Games

1. If you want access to the “Fan Games” board, you will have to make a thread declaring your desire for the password in the “Auditions” section of the site.

2. If you are a game creator, you will post brief examples of the work you intend to share, as well as any other additional information about your game developing skills that you would like to make known. Because some game creators come to the site specifically to share their games and not for discussion, a set post count is not required for game developers. However, posting on the boards is encouraged so that you can gain the trust of site members and make a name for yourself in the community.

3. If you’re just a fan who wants to play the games created by others, there is a slightly different protocol that you must follow. You must be an active member of the site for 30 days before you can post your audition thread. Use this time to introduce yourself to the community and contribute to the discussions on the boards. Spend these 30 days wisely, as resurrecting old threads and posting filler comments to build up your post count will only frustrate current members and make them less likely to support you later in the process. Once the 30 day waiting period has ended, post your audition and share why you want to gain access to the “Fan Games” section. If possible, talk about who you are in the “Millionaire” fan community, and, more importantly, who you know. Also, fans who are not sharing their own creations will need to have a post count of at least 20 posts. These posts must be meaningful and contribute to the community, and not just be useless posts made to ring up a post count.

4. After you post your application, it will be reviewed by other members of the site, especially those who have already gained access to the Fan Games section. These members will share their opinions of your application by posting in the application thread that you created. If any member can give a reason as to why you should be denied the password (meaning they can prove that you were irresponsible with materials before, such as official show music or elements of fan games, or that you harassed creators of fan games for their work behind the scenes), the password won’t be shared with you. However, if no one expresses any disapproval of your character, you will be given the password after 2 site members (who have post counts of at least 20) post in your application thread and state that they believe you are trustworthy. In order to prevent applicants from getting friends to vouch for them before a dissenter can voice his or her opinion, applications must be posted for at least 10 days before they are considered eligible, even if the application meets all requirements before this time period ends.

5. After these requirements are met in your application thread, send me a PM with a link to your application. I will review it one final time to make sure everything is in order, and then I will share the password with you. The password is only for you and cannot be shared with other site members under any circumstances.

All site members are encouraged to participate in the process. I realize that not everyone knows 2 people on the boards to vouch for them. For that reason, you are allowed to PM other site members and ask them to voice their approval of you, if you feel doing so is necessary. That being said, you should never annoy a member of the site in an attempt to get them to support you. I guarantee that doing so will not get you the results you desire. Also, it is important to remember to only post on behalf of someone you honestly believe is trustworthy.

Remember that the entire process takes place in a public setting. Nobody has anything to hide. Please keep in mind that the fan community has had problems in the past with people stealing and abusing the files that contributing members share with the community, particularly when it comes to fan games and official show music. The openness of the process is to make sure that everyone has a chance to share what they know. This system will hopefully prevent the misuse of any of the materials being shared on the site.
