Just saw this on the UK Millionaire Twitter page:

That means...well the premiere of the new format is not far off.
Any speculations on what the format will be? Methinks it's gonna be full on US Millionaire, with a few UK changes (intro and logo). What Tarrant said in the Sun a while back just doesn't sound right (Clock on first questions, 30s). What are your bets on this?

All I've heard about it is that they are removing fastest finger and putting in a clock for the early questions of the game to speed things up. I don't know anything about it other than that. Apparently ITV is starting to show advertisements with the clock, but living on the other side of the pond means I have no way to see them.

STV (Scotland) apparently started showing the ads for the new Millionaire. According to people who have seen them, they have 3 pictures of the people that are used for Phone A Friend, the clock is where the Projector screen is on the USA version. And a lot more orange is being used now.

The UK version badly needs new graphic and music packages. If they do that, they've already improved the show drastically.
Only applying the clock to 2/3 of the game seems strange. ITV really doesn't treat this show well anymore.

Seems that the new Millionaire is launched on ITV1 on August the 3rd. Here's a description from the Radio Times:
The popular gameshow returns with some new and exciting tricks up its sleeve. Ten hopefuls try for a place in the hot seat opposite Chris Tarrant and a chance at the million pound prize. This episode sees the introduction of some new features - the questions will be timed up to and including the £50,000 question, and there is a new lifeline at the £50,000 point. Will the contestants be able to handle the tension?
Any guesses on what that lifeline will be?
And I totally agree with Regisfan, they need new music and graphics. (and by the looks of it, they're definitely not using the US ones - legal issues for the format?) And the fact that the clock is added until the 2nd milestone is strange...that's what I thought when I first saw the article in the Sun.

Questions 1 – 7 have new music, but the final 5 questions keep the rave remixes. There are also a few slight changes to the set!
