If there happens to be another anniversary special with the shuffle format, what would you guys change about the syndicated version to make it more Prime Time friendly?
1. I would definitely put the fastest finger back into the game so the one with the quickest time gets into the hotseat.
2. With that being said, the hotseat would definitely return as well.
3. Regis would naturally have to host it.
4. I'd add a safe haven in the middle of the first round so if you answer five questions, the money you banked would be safe.
5. After the safe haven in round one, I'd have the music intensify a bit. Even though the amounts are shuffled so you might've gotten the big amounts earlier, you are reaching closer to the million dollar question so it should add a little more tension in the game.
6. Even though the hotseat would return, I'd have the studio light up to whatever status the contestant was at. If they got the question right, the studio would turn green, if they got it wrong, it'd turn red. After the first safe haven, the studio would darken as well. During Classic Millionaire, the studio would turn completely dark except for a little blue in the floor as in the clock format.
7. I'd add another lifeline into the bunch. Having only two different lifelines is kinda pathetic. I think a double dip or 50:50 lifeline would be best as in reality, it's the most useful one in the game.
So, are there any other things you'd add in for a Prime Time version? This isn't to improve the syndicated version though, just fixes or tweaks to make it different and better for Prime Time.
By the way, has anyone noticed that classic Millionaire sorta adds the 'New Dimension' feel to Shuffle as it did to Super Millionaire?

You can't have prime time Millionaire w/o 3 entities. Regis, Fastest Finger, and Hot Seat.

Removing the hotseat was the worst so if they do make a prime time special of shuffle, they need to have the hotseat. But I want the classic hot seat with the monitor in front that displays money and sometimes the logo when it comes back from a commercial. I was disappointed when the monitor was removed.

In my opinion, the shuffle format has NO chance of going primetime. No way. Don't even think about it. It would never work.

It just doesn't fit the 'prime time' standards. It's ok as a daytime game, already more of a spin-off to WWTBAM rather than the format itself, but with that music and rules it wouldn't do ok as "Primetime Millionaire". Also, Regis wouldn't adapt to the changes as well as he did to the clock - and he had some trouble with that.

But really, I mean even though there are a lot of changes to the format, is it truly 'that' different from classic Millionaire? It's basically the same thing with two jump the question lifelines instead of Double Dip and Ask the Expert and the money amounts and categories are randomized. It was new to the clock format where categories were introduced but now they're just randomized. As for the bank, the getting only half if you walk in round one sucks, I agree. But they removed one question and if you don't skip any questions, the bank comes out at $68,600 I believe, which makes you come out ahead than if the $50,000 question was still in the question pool. If you lost at the $50,000 question, you'd still only go home with $25,000. Now if they guaranteed $50,000 rather than just $25,000, I think the risk for going for $100,000 would be more worth it as you'd only lose $18,600 as compared to $43,600.
As for the music, I'm not a big fan of round one's music but I think the cues in classic Millionaire rock! It still has a dark tone feel to it. If they made the studio really dark in classic Millionaire like they used to in round three of the original Millionaire, I think it'd be a much better fit.

To me, it's hard to picture Regis standing up throughout the entire show.

Regis stood up throughout "Million Dollar Password." That man has limitless energy.
I really don't think the Shuffle format would work well in primetime. It's very, very, "daytime." The studio is bright, the music is lively and upbeat, and everyone is standing and jumping around. Primetime game shows simply need to be more dramatic in their presentation.
If "Millionaire" does return to primetime for another special week or two of shows, I really hope that they use the classic, Super, or clock format. And, naturally, Regis simply has to be the host. The non-Shuffle version redefined television game shows, as well as primetime television in general, and there's a reason it's such a standard the world over. It just works in prime time television- a place where many game shows have died horrible deaths.

There is a lot more audience reactions in the shuffle format. So many of them start hollering and cheering even before the right answer is reveiled. The original format was a lot more tense and in round three especially, you could hear if someone coughed, that's how silent it was.

you could hear if someone coughed Heh, you can say that again. As for Primetime Shuffle...no. It just does not work, for the reasons outlined above by you guys. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see one of our other Millionaire formats back for a special or something...

Primetime Shuffle... Adding the clock makes it more dramatic! .................. Well, it must be a hard mix of Classic, Clock Format and Shuffle. And the lights should be like Classic Format as well. I will be crazy if this mix goes to my country!
