Half Brony, not totally obsessed with My Little Pony, but Derpy is definitely the best one hence the lifeline.

[off-topic] Why do you ask so? I even had some time to look at your reddit account and after reading the comments reveals that you're a brony hater. Will you explain that to me?

If this conversation really has to happen on the boards, it had better be kept civil. I can assure you all that if I have to take disciplinary action because of My Little Pony, I will wield the banhammer like it has never been wielded before.

As much as it pains me to ask everyone to get back on the topic of money trees, it pains me more to let this My Little Pony discussion go on.
What wouldn't pain me, though, is if this thread just disappeared into thin air.

Is it okay if I used that last sentence as my signature just in case?

This is my money tree if they decided to revive Millionaire in daytime in the UK.
15. £1,000,000 14. £250,000 13. £100,000 12. £50,000 11. £20,000 10. £10,000 9. £5,000 8. £3,000 7. £2,000 6. £1,500 5. £1,000 4. £500 3. £300 2. £200 1. £100
£250,000 will be played as an annuity of £100,000 straight away + £15,000 each year for the next ten years, and £1,000,000 will be played an annuity of £100,000 straight away + £45,000 a year for the next 20 years. Considering the kind of money offered on The Chase and that used to be offered on Golden Balls and For The Rest of Your Life, this is a perfectly realistic money tree for ITV daytime.
Also, here would be my money tree for the US version:
14. $1,000,000 13. $250,000 12. $100,000 11. $50,000 10. $30,000 9. $20,000 8. $10,000 7. $6,000 6. $4,000 5. $2,500 4. $1,500 3. $1,000 2. $500 1. $250
Realistically, again, the syndicated version doesn't really the budget to use the monet tree it's going to use this season. My money tree scales down the money to the point that they can make the questions a little bit easier.

Before anyone says "Don't bump dead threads", please take a moment and imagine what it would be like if everyone who got an idea for a change to the money tree posted a brand new thread about it.

My money tree scales down the money to the point that they can make the questions a little bit easier. I'm just going to make one small comment about the tier 3,4,5 on your US chart and the 5th, 6th, and 7th on the UK one you wrote: Why are these values only separated by only by 500, then the sudden jump to $2500 (US), then $4000... Don't worry about budgets too much. If it were a problem about budgets, the show wouldn't exist. Also that jump from 1/4 million to 1 million pounds is kind of astronomical. (It kind of reminds me in the tree of Millionaire: Hot Seat. and even then I kind of didn't like it.) Like there is WAY too much to lose. Before anyone says "Don't bump dead threads", please take a moment and imagine what it would be like if everyone who got an idea for a change to the money tree posted a brand new thread about it. I kind of figured there would be just one thread to defeat that purpose. But I would like it if people came through for their rationalization for why they came up with the numbers. (Was it based off another version? Why are the values so spread? etc...)

Don't worry about budgets too much. If it were a problem about budgets, the show wouldn't exist. The budget is precisely the reason why the questions are so hard on US Millionaire. Hard questions mean small payouts. ABC had to do a lot of bargaining with Celador to reduce the fees they had to pay to them and make the show attractive enough to keep on the air. It's always about money. couponboy Your "discount" money trees are not bad. I'm not sure if the US one isn't still a little too expensive, but you can't have $100,000 for question 14, so fair enough. The progressions are a little strange sometimes, but they serve a purpose. Many money trees from European versions of the show introduced similar money trees after the shift to the Euro (the Dutch one, e.g.). I'm not a fan of custom money trees. People throw around hypothetical hundreds of thousands or dollars or pounds, just for the sake of making a pretty list. Also, looking at those lists just isn't interesting. Yours show that you thought about the economical aspect of it all, which I appreciate. You give us something to discuss further. So good job.

Format: Classic 15-Question
$1,000,000 $500,000 $250,000 $150,000 $100,000 $50,000 (2nd milestone) $30,000 $20,000 $10,000 $7,000 $5,000 (1st milestone) $3,000 $2,000 $1,000 $500
It's similar to the 14-Question money tree on the syndicated US version, but I added $150,000 in between $100,000 and $250,000.
And here's my 12-Question money tree, like the one on the last UK version, except I placed the 1st milestone on the 3rd question instead of the 2nd question. This way the contestant would answer 3 questions for the 1st milestone, 4 questions for the 2nd milestone, and 5 questions for the grand prize.
$1,000,000 $500,000 $250,000 $150,000 $100,000 $50,000 (2nd milestone) $25,000 $15,000 $10,000 $5,000 (1st milestone) $2,000 $1,000
What do y'all think?
