I am putting this thread up because I would like to hear from the community, what is your favorite lifeline in WWTBAM?
Mine's Ask The Audience. Why? Because sometimes the poll can be... well unhelpful, but funny at the same time!

My favorite lifeline would have to be Double Dip. It's definitely the one that I'd want to have going into a question. Ask the Audience is a close second, though.

I've always liked "Ask the Expert" because you never knew who the expert would be next.

Double Dip's in my avatar. It's been my favorite ever since super millionaire was airing. I gotta say, I really miss it.

I don't know about Double Dip.
Yes it helps, but you can't walk away if you use it.
There's always a dark side to these kind of lifelines, aren't they?

Yep, there's definitely no certainty to any lifelines. 50:50 leaves you with 1/2 a chance of getting it right, and 1/2 a chance of getting it wrong. You're phone a friend my not have a clue and the audience percentage may not be reasonable. With double dip, you cannot walk away after guessing your first answer, I don't see why you would want to anyway. So no doubt, there's always some uncertainty using any lifeline. The only exception would be when there's a 50:50 and Double Dip used in coherence on the same question, it's a gimme then.

Right. Too bad 50:50 and Double Dip haven't been used together in the same format since Super Millionaire. I would have loved to have seen them both used on the same question.

My opinion on the Double Dip: MY FAVORITE LIFELINE!!! Very helpful and also a poison in your game if you don't use it right.  My opinion on the Ask the Audience: A very good lifeline, I say about it's funny how sometimes it can fail the contestant. ;D My opinion on the Phone a Friend: They don't help... My opinion on the 50-50: It only increases the tension. My opinion on the Ask the Expert: Well, to me, it's a way better replacement if it were to replace the Phone a Friend. Trust me, it's a savory lifeline. My opinion on the Switch the Question: Yes, you can replace a question you don't like but the same struggle is still there!!! My opinion on the Jump the Question: Now with the new rules on the Shuffle format, I say it's a very good lifeline. As if in reality, you only have to answer 12 questions. |
