Daytime Emmys to Be Broadcast in June

Regis Philbin has been tabbed for a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He will receive his plaudits at the Daytime Emmy Awards on June 24 from the Kodak Theater.
Philbin has been on-air personality for 40 years, and currently co-hosts New York-based morning chat show "Live With Regis and Kelly," which is in its 20th year of syndication for ABC Domestic Television.
Said NATAS president Peter Price: "Regis Philbin has perfected the unscripted, spontaneous banter that has now become a staple of the talk show genre. Dozens of shows have tried to duplicate it over the years but no one does it better than Regis."
Philbin raised his primetime awareness in 1999 when he hosted the gameshow "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," which became a huge hit for ABC. Returning to the nighttime airwaves, he's been selected to emcee upcoming CBS gameshow "Million Dollar Password," from FremantleMedia North America, which seems likely for a summer run.
