Hello everyone!
I've been lurking around the forums for some time now, not knowing how to really contribute. My interest in Millionaire has been around all of my life, however, I have just gotten a new-found interest in it again. I'm like, obsessed. I do presentations for high school students, and I thought Millionaire would be a great way to engage the students and have them play. In this version of Millionaire, I split classes into groups, and the groups who get the question right, move on. The group who wins the million (or gets the farthest) wins candy. Sound fun? =P
Anyways, this is the first non-powerpoint template. This version of Millionaire was made entirely in Apple's Keynote, which explains some limitations of the program. For example, THERE ARE NO TRIGGERS. This has somewhat of a negative effect on the presentation, which means you can not directly use lifelines or click on answers. The reason it's set up in a certain way during the video is because: a) groups will have different answers, which means you can't select more than one answer and b) it reveals the answer so all groups see the answer at the same time.
I have made an alternative keynote which functions the same way (I need to update it with the same graphics, however), but you CAN click on the answers. To do this, there needs to be a separate slide for EACH answer. Hyperlinks allow this, but it makes at least 3x the amount of slides. I make the game 10 questions for a reason, but because it is a template, you can extend or shorten the game to your liking.
For the transition slides (with showing the category), you can edit them by changing one of the slides, and copy pasting the categories on the next slide. You still have to rearrange the animations in the inspector, though. I use music from the new version of millionaire, and the old, to make the presentation varied and neat.
Keynote makes for fun ways to make presentations, even though there aren't any triggers. You can edit the questions easily, but you can't use lifelines easily. If you can help me with that, that would be really neat.
If enough people are interested, I will post the link to download this project. Also, I used the backgrounds from randydorney on the forums, so thanks to him. All the other graphics are made in Keynote, including the logo.
Let me know of your thoughts!
Sincerely,
ShodanWii
P.S. I'm also working on a PowerPoint template, but Keynote is so much easier to make presentations in. >.<
