Do you think Meredith is a good host for Millionaire? I think she's okay, but she's no Regis. She doesn't quite get the drama factor.

I think she's OK. But I think Barbara Walters may be a better fit, due to her nice voice (sure, she and Meredith are journalists as well as co-hosts of "The View").
What do you guys think?

Barbara Walters would be a good choice because she would bring a lot of drama to the party due to the style of her voice. My only irk about Meredith, and I've said this before, is that she tends to gab a little too much! Lately she's been better so way to go Meredith!

Meredith is such a sweetheart...Kinda like some hosts, she grew on me. She actually autographed one of my drawings of the set...so she's very sweet as well. But i agree, she's no Regis, but still sweet.

Yeah I agree divvy. She makes you feel very comforted and at home while in the hotseat. It's a very nerveracking chair to be in, and she does a great job of comforting contestants.

The last show I watched, she had a contestant answer question 9 ($16,000) and she scared her to death: 'Here's your $8,000 check ...' I'd say this little stunt went for maybe 15 second before ... You have 16K! She did say: 'Let me finish ... though. So, yes, she still carres the 'drama' it's just more peaceful and subtle. However, that contestant was indeed nervous. Meredith really does make you feel comfy. She's no Regis, but he's no Meredith either. Good luck in life after Millionaire to you both! Btw, I'm on a gsn board and have started alot of debates; I won't do that here though. |

Meredith, does a better "Fake out" job. You know, she pretends the answer is wrong with her facial expression and then reveals that it's right or says something like this "I'm sorry...You got 25,000 dollar!"

After watching some of the early episodes on GSN, I can really tell that Meredith has come a long way in her hosting abilities. She's a lot more professional and polished now, and she's added her own flair to the hosting position.

This is a toughie. I am a HUGE Regis fan. I hardly ever miss him when he's on Letterman, and every time he's on there, I'm reminded what a great host he was when he was on WWTBAM. I think I, like so many people on here, have grown to like her over time. Have you guys seen the blooper reel of her on YouTube? Great stuff!

I have to say, Meredith does an excellent job hosting Millionaire. However, I favor Regis more. When I watch old episodes of the primetime show on GSN, I always wish he would come back and host permanently again. Also, I do agree that Meredith has come a long way hosting the show.

Meredith does do a good job of hosting, it's just that Regis is the original. So it's hard to replace him. I prefer Regis because he made the show what it has come to be. I would want Regis to come back, but as Joacen said, Meredith has come a long way since she first started hosting.
