That's what I always think, she's ok but Regis was the man! I'd like to see Todd Newton or Drew Carey (because he dominated in celebrity millionaire) Drew Carey once was a contestant on Millionaire (as seen below), just like Meredith, hey if he wasn't busy with the Price is Right, I could see him as a host or even a guest host of Millionaire.

I never thought someone could replace Regis, and perhaps she hasn't but I do think she's very good. She's definitely grown on me.
Her trademark is definitely the fake-out. So many players have had near-heart attacks from her "I'm sorry...... you're right!" and what not. Regis was a bit more upfront about whether you were right or not. She does seem 'warmer' than Regis too as some people already mentioned.

Haha! I love Drew Carey, best Millionaire celebrity player out there. He was actually on twice, winning $500,000 the first time for all the Ohio Libraries.

Drew Carey is cool and all, but I really don't think he's that good of a game show host...

Conuraptor, Have you seen him host "Power of 10 USA"? I only seen the clip with a guy who won $1,000,000 on it, but I think Drew made a good host there.

"Power of 10" fit him well because, in that game, the host can actually help the contestant. It was a very relaxed hosting job, and it really fit Drew well. Drew likes to talk to contestants and help them out as much as possible, so it was the perfect game show format for him - perhaps an even better fit than "The Price Is Right."

I think Meredith is a great host! At first I didn't really think so, she didn't seem that enthusiastic but I think as she kept hosting, she got better and into the groove of things. But I noticed that by the clock format seasons, she seemed like a natural for hosting Millionaire. I like how sweet she is and she cares for each and every contestant on Millionaire. Regis was great as well but I think Meredith makes people feel more at home on Millionaire and more relaxed. You can tell she feels sympathetic when someone loses as well. And during the 10th anniversary special when she became the host and Regis ended up answering the $50,000 question, I thought that was pure gold, especially how he sat in the host's seat and she sat in the contestant's spot.

Although Regis was perfect in the beginning...could anyone picture him now with shuffle millionaire? It was perfect then...but now, with the less dramatic, more relaxing music, and the ability for the contestant to move around it just seems that Meredith finally fits in completely with Millionaire. Of course, whether it's Regis or Meredith, both can adapt to just about anything that they do. Truthfully, Meredith has grown on me over the years, and it would feel weird after this long going back to Regis again...not that I wouldn't mind another primetime anniversary special with shuffle millionaire and Regis as host!

I just don't see Regis doing shuffle. I think he felt uneasy even with the new clock format. He was the joking kind of guy where you had a good laugh while playing the game, but you didn't have time for that with the clock format. In fact I noticed that they don't even have the joke answers anymore. He was good with those as well.

I agree with !Tommy. Regis and Shuffle wouldn't work. I like both Meredith and Regis very much and I think both of them are great millionaire hosts. Regis is very classy and he can create drama but is also a bit distant in my opinion. Meredith really sympathizes with the contestants and wants them to feel comfortable, but her 'fooling the contestant' thing is great too (especially he looks of the contestants afterwards ). All in all, I think Meredith is the better host for syndicated millionaire (especially shuffle) and Regis did a wonderful job at primetime millionaire.

I think that shuffle would be way too much of a change for Regis. He is so used to the original version which was the untimed version of course. As stated previously, the new clock format threw him off quite a bit in my opinion as you can see below: As you can see, he doesn't begin reading the answers until after 8 seconds have already past. Then he's reading so fast that he says "sublime" instead of "subprime." His explanation at the end describes at all, he blames himself for the clock almost running out, but he's so used to the traditional un-timed version. Meredith easily got used to the time and pulled it off quite well, and even today she still is an excellent host with the shuffle included. (pardon the long post)

Hey I didn't know Kermit the Frog was on Millionaire!!! Can someone find the part of Celebrity Millionaire when he was in the Hot Seat?? That would be awesome! Regis would always be one of the most amazing game show hosts in its history; no questions asked. I find him irreplacable, but due to a couple of drawbacks in his health, I guess it was a good decision for him to leave the show in the early 2000's. At first, Meredith didn't quite fit in with hosting the show in her first season...but in the long run, Meredith is, indeed, the perfect replacement for Regis. Regis did a phenominal job during the primetime era, and Meredith has likewise on the syndicated version. I don't know how the show can get any better!!! (Well, maybe it can. )

One thing I liked about Regis more than Meredith is Regis had the best facial expressions during certain situations. I remember one person using the internet during Phone a Friend and just watching his face as the person on the other end typing on the keyboard was priceless. XD
