So, as of now the maximum total for Round 1 is a disgustingly non-round (for people with OCD like me) $68,600. I've been playing around with the R1 values to see what I could come up with:
Solution 1: Change $100 to $1,500. The total would become a nice, even $70,000.
Solution 2: Change tree to $15K/$10K/$9K/$8K/$7K/$5K/$4K/$3K/$2K/$1K. The total would be $64,000. Make the guarantee for the round $32,000. Make the final four questions $125K, $250K, $500K, $1M. This would be true Classic Millionaire. It would also prevent people from getting a five-digit total from answering one question (or none on their own if they use ATA) right.
Any other ideas? Thoughts?

I really like solution 2. Another change to propose is to take away one of the 2 'Jump The Question' lifelines and replace it with either a 50:50 or a Double Dip.
OR
If someone reaches the $1,000,000 question with a 'Jump' lifeline, replace that with a 50:50 or Double Dip, since the Jump is useless at that point.

It's really hard to lower prize values from what they've been in the past. The only reason the change to $25k/$50k/$100k flew is because they added another lifeline as a trade-off. If you don't do that, it comes off as cheap.

@woffan2008: I'm totally in favor of putting Double Dip somewhere in Round 2, either at the end or in place of a Jump at the million. kplewisvox: Note that Solution 2 would be increasing the round two guarantee to $32,000, and the $100K to $125K. Take away $4,600 in round one, add in $32,000 in round two.

How about re-implementing the clock format for the classic millionaire questions, but with longer limits, like 5 minutes for the first 3 questions but leaving the million without a limit?

I feel like the contestants don't take five minutes generally, anyway, and if they do, it's not fair to rush them. I'm not a huge fan of the clock as it is (if you couldn't tell ).

Absolutely no need to rush anybody, especially towards the higher value questions. I believer there should be no clock for any question in shuffle millionaire. I do like the idea of switching a jump with a double dip, however, how many people do you even see take a jump or even the audience lifeline into round 2? Not many, so keeping a jump to the million dollar question means that you have to be really good and lucky. It would be a rare occurrence anyway.

I suppose that we'd have to see a million dollar question first...perhaps just adding it at the beginning of Round 2 would work better.

Another lifeline idea, go back to how lifelines were introduced in Super Millionaire:
Round 1, player has a 50:50, Ask the Audience, and Switch the Question or Jump. In Round 2, introduce the Double Dip and the Ask the Experts lifeline.

Sticking to 50:50, ATA, and/or Double Dip is something that should be. Having two jumps for round 1 and ATA and maybe bringing in Double Dip for Round 2 would be a good idea.
