So it was around 1999, I was a little child visiting my aunt in California and one night at her house everybody was huddling over the TV watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and there was this guy playing in the hot seat now what got me confused was that a person sitting next to me looked exactly like the guy on TV, so I asked myself "was he there?". And this mystery was solved today when my aunt flew over and I remembered the day and asked her, and yep apparently her husband John went on Millionaire and got up to the $64,000 question and used his 50:50 lifeline and lost so he left with $32,000. I asked her "Does he remember his experience" and she told me "The staff was ok, sometimes they wouldn't let him or anyone else talk during commercials, they were a bit rushy that day and they were disappointed that he lost to an easy question? well made easy because of the 50:50" my aunt can't remember what the question was or what answer choice he picked but he lost...
So I can't believe that 11 years later I finally found out that someone from our family actually got on the show, from what I remember John looked very nervous during the first 5 questions.

Wow, that's a really cool story. It's funny that you just now confirmed your suspicion about your aunt's husband, after so many years have gone by. Congrats on having a family member make it to the Hot Seat! I wonder if you'll be able to track down the episode and watch it again.

As for the episode, its like way back in 1999 so its a hard one to find especially when its just a normal episode, I guess only time will tell when GSN or some other network will air the episodes starting from 1999 in order again

I've literally just starting recording it on the DVR last week. I'll keep you posted, I would need his name though for any potential spottings of him... PM me if you're ok with giving me his name and i'll post his run if I get to see it sometime. |

No, he didn't have a beard and doesn't wear glasses, he looked really young, he had a big smile and all with a one-spike haircut
