I'm sure you will remember this Canadian "experiment" which lasted only two primetime episodes. Well, so I managed to find the premiere of this short-lived version of Millionaire.
Here's Night One:

How'd it only last 2 nights?

Wasn't that because the American version, which was also broadcast in Canada, had better ratings?

I think it was an interesting experiment, but Pam just wasn't that good of a fit for the show. If Regis' version was airing concurrently with this one, its easy to see why more viewers tuned in to see him.

From what I heard this was an experiment and CTV was planning to make their own version but CTV didn't want to pay the licensing fee for the format. So, the show was scrapped.

I actually liked the concept of a Canadian Millionaire, but I don't know any good Canadian hosts. My piano teacher tired to get on once...

It was also only in English. They should have also had a Quebec French version too, probably called Qui Veut Etre une Millionaire (I think that's the literal translation of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in French).
And in addition to that, they should have also had a U.S. Spanish version as well, called Quien Quiere ser Millonario, on Univision. I remember Deal or No Deal having a Spanish version called Vas o No Vas on Telemundo, so I think they should have had a Spanish version of Millionaire on Univision.
