Simple answer for me--I was in piano class in college when one of my classmates told me that a plane hit the WTC. I thought it was a joke, until the TV's in the commons were tuned into the cable news channels and I had to see it for myself.

Still shocks me to this day. How about everyone else? In the words of Alan Jackson, "Where were you when the world stopped turning?"
