What constitutes a good trivia question. Or, is there any standard to the questions asked in Millionaire?
I know that Indonesian WWTBAM doesn't slightly see what are the good trivias, for example I remembered that they asked (in the Hot Seat version) what is the governor of (insert Indonesia's Province here) which is not known to the general public. Would you imagine if you are asked who is the governor of Maine in Millionaire?
Another lazy trivia question is: Which of these is not true? And then insert 4 choices which are completely unrelated to each other. I also don't like this type of question.
I think trivia should be interesting and not boring. What do you think? How about the answer choices?

Yes!In our country per contestant they ask 1 or 2 questions about government and sometimes they ask about other countries when the amounts is more than Rs.25,00,000 which is 10th question =$ 510250 approx. One type of question which i don't like in our version. They play a audio clip or song or dialogue and ask who sung the song, from which movie is song, who said this dialogue
Even sometimes plays the voice of politician and ask who is this politician
They should ask different types of question
and i think contestant should use phone a friend first because in our country they use ask the audience which is so useful harder question. Phone-a-friend 90% fails at harder question after 12,50,00 which is 9th question

I totally agree with you!
Here, in the Netherlands, we don't have specific question categories. But the questions aren't boring. There are questions which the contestant doesn't know by him- or herself, but the audience always knows the answer. Too bad you can only ask the audience once, but it can help you further in the game. Anyways, I think you can earn allot of money when you play the game strategic.

I've always found the consistency of Ask the Audience to be fascinating. Even if you know that most people in the audience don't truly know the answer to the question, a collection of mere first impressions is still extremely valuable.

Even Regis said that 95% of the times, audience is correct (?) I seem to remember Regis stating that, but I'm not sure when or where.
I think the audio and video questions are horrible. It seems to be a type of question really out of Millionaire, because you cannot have access to the question all the time.

Back when Millionaire had Phone-a-friend, some consideration to the "googlability" of a question had to be made.
The ultimate acid test for a millionaire question is this: is it interesting? If you ask 10 of your friends a high-level question, about 8 or 9 of them should get it wrong, but if more than 2 of them say "Who cares?" it's not a good question.

Back when Millionaire had Phone-a-friend, some consideration to the "googlability" of a question had to be made. That's exactly what I thought of. The PaF and its simplicity to find the answer with google. Like the bird prey question in primetime. That was perfect.
