Millionaire had its 3rd "Double Money" special this week, where every contestant had a chance to win up to $50,000 on just one question in Round 1. It was quite a week, with many contestants making it to Round 2, I think the most we've seen in one week since the shuffle format debuted.
I mentioned last week how, with over $399,000 given away, that week had taken the honor of having the largest total winnings since I started posting weekly winnings back in Season 8. Well, that recognition was short lived, because this past week, we broke the $400,000 mark. That's right: $423,900 was given away in all.
So, Millionaire's 3rd Double Money week takes the honor of having the highest total winnings to date since Season 8. How long will this recognition last? We'll find out............
