I'm working on a new original WWTBAM clock format interface for two radio stations... one is a college radio station WWSU... and the other is my personal internet radio station WRRJ.
I thought I'd share with you the progress so far.
Some notes about this interface:
*As mentioned, it is original and looks different than the real interface.
*Lifeline icons are not to my satisfaction yet
*There are a lot more lifelines than in the real game... and not all of them are available at once in the game.
*Gameplay is slightly different than the real clock format.
*It is still in HEAVY development.
*I have not decided whether or not to use the original music and sounds or to create ones.
*This interface was unusually created... in a program called Visual Pinball... which is usually used for pinball game creation.
LIFELINES NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE INDICATED BY THE KEYPAD-STYLE 9 ICONS (two randomly available from beginning, additional one after question 5, additional two after question 10... for a total of 5.)... in order left to right and top to bottom:
*50/50: Take away two wrong answers
*Poll the computer (alternative to ask the audience): Get a percentage from a computer generated audience.
*Ask the expert: Talk with a professor, graduate student, or some other smart person (when used for WWSU)... this lifeline will not be used for WRRJ.
*Ask the studio (alternative to three wise men): Get 30 seconds to speak with everyone else in the radio studio (when used for WWSU. A computer-generated "three wise men" will be used when this interface used for WRRJ)
*Double Dip: Get 2 chances at answering the question correctly. NOTE: Unlike the original double dip, instead of the question clock pausing and resuming after first attempt, question clock will pause and you will get 15 seconds for both attempts (paused in between attempts)... otherwise the question is marked wrong.
*Google It: Get 30 seconds (60 for WRRJ since contestant is on the phone and must speak the terms and host must read results) to use the Google Search Engine (haven't decided on actual time length yet.)
*Hint Me: Pause the clock for a few seconds as a hint to the answer is presented. Hint can be an additional fact about the answer, or it can be a thought-provoking "catchy" hint.
*Phone a friend: A friend is called and contestant gets 30 seconds to interact with the friend on the question (for WRRJ, a computer generated friend is used).
*Switch the question: Receive the answer to that question and receive a different question to answer. Unlike the lifeline in the real game, the new question will NOT always match the difficulty of the previous question. It may be easier or harder.
LIFELINE AVAILABLE AFTER A QUESTION IS ANSWERED WRONG:
*Flag the question: If you feel the answer we thought was correct is actually not correct, you can challenge us. We'll do some research to find out. If we really were wrong, you advance automatically to the next level and you're still in the game. But if we were correct all along, not only do you lose the game, but you surrender half of your prizes.
LIFELINE AVAILABLE ONLY WHEN NO OTHER LIFELINES HAVE BEEN USED FOR THE CURRENT QUESTION... AND WHEN THERE'S AT LEAST 15 SECONDS BANKED:
*Give me time: Receive the amount of time in your bank added on to the time remaining for your question. Note not only can you not use this lifeline if you used another for this question already, but after using this lifeline you cannot use any other lifeline for the question. Using this lifeline will zero out your banked time.
Please tell me what you think and please provide any suggestions you may have.
>SECTION EDITED ON MAY 9, 2012:< This project as of right now will NOT be available for download, even when completed. I will let you know if this changes otherwise. What I forgot to mention... I do plan to release it under an All Rights Reserved password-protected (meaning you cannot extract any of the graphics, sounds, or scripting without a password... does not mean you can't use it without the password) license once it is no longer used for WRRJ or WWSU.
P.S. Image was uploaded on my DeviantART hence the watermark to sort-of prevent graphic copying. All graphics, except lifeline icons, were created in GIMP. Lifeline icons used GIMP and clipart. The clock hands and lights and progress bars and text boxes were created in Visual Pinball.
