Hello.
This is just a general question. Is there a reason why almost everyone who has created some sort of game or program relating to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire do not publicly share it? Finding a good working Clock Format millionaire interface someone created and offered for download has been harder than my final exams for college. Sound boards are the same story.
In addition, is there a reason why people have to go through an application process just to see what others have created as far as interfaces go? I feel that's a little unfair.
All of this has made me think that people get the "Hey look what I created but you can't try it out HA HA!" attitude. I beg someone to prove me wrong on this.
I appreciate that.

Basically, the heightened security regarding the distribution of fan games boils down to two issues:
1) Fan games often involve the use of official Millionaire music and graphics that have been shared with members of this community by sources close to the actual television show. As per the wishes of those sources, we have been asked to control the distribution of these materials and ensure that they stay contained within the Millionaire Fans community.
2) Fan game creators work very hard on their games. Fan game programming and graphics creation take hours of hard work, and the makers of fan games naturally want to maintain control over their creations. Unfortunately, there is a tendency among many unscrupulous fan game "creators" in the Millionaire fan gaming community to use assets created by other fan game creators and pass them off as their own. This has happened not a few times, but numerous times. The actual creators are usually trusted members of this website who have shared their frustration on the boards at their hard work being stolen without any credit being given. Hence, the "audition" system was created to protect their work.
Also, it should be pointed out that no fan game creator is forced to share his or her fan games in the password-protected area of the site. Lots of software has been shared in the "Creativity" board, and the part of the newly redesigned Fan Games board that isn't password-protected could also be a home to unprotected games. We've gone to great lengths to construct a password system that is rigorous yet fair. There is no reason that any member of the site who meets the requirements would ever be denied the password using the peer-reviewed system.
I have seen many fan game creators had their work stolen after sharing it with the community at large. However, I have never seen anyone on Millionaire Fans create a piece of Millionaire software, be it a fan game or a sound board, just to show it off and keep it to themselves. Other than you, that is, who did just that in your thread in the Creativity board. But that is your choice, and we all respect that decision. Such is the spirit of Millionaire Fans - this site is a hub for all members of the fan community to come together and participate in their shared obsession with Millionaire in any way that they choose.

I feel that the auditions process is perfectly fair. Asking for one month of contributory activity in the forums is not asking for much. You've been a member here for almost two years... if you had just stopped by and posted two times per month you'd have more than met the requirements. If you want to get to know the members of the community and the game creators themselves, we'd love to have you. But if all you're here for is to take the games and run... that's a different story.
