I just wish they had the full episode rather than just the first 13 minutes. I can remember that on TV like it was yesterday.
I remember Regis explaining his screen. Obviously it's a little different than the one Meredith had when it went syndicated but I still haven't figured out his screen. As in, whether an answer is correct or not. I'm thinking it has something to do with the little squares above the question on his screen next to the money tree.

I've seen somewhere that the little square is white and once the contestant said final answer, it turns green if the answer is correct or red if the answer is incorrect. That way, the host can see whether the answer given is right or wrong while the answer is highlighted in orange. You can catch quick glimpses of the screen between 4:00 and 5:00. The answer indicator is at 4:40. The original UK screen is the same as this, just with the £ instead of the $.

Have to bump this cause I didn't even realize this was my video that I uploaded that you guys were talking about  My dad recorded this for me in 2000. Unfortunately, the tape actually cut off I think so it wasn't able to record the whole thing. I wonder if they have the actual full documentary somewhere? |

Look at the big screen and the podium during the rehearsal tapings. The podium looks, really, really weird, and the Jump the Question icon is way different. (It kinda reminds me of a fish hook.) But I am glad they went to the way the set was for a while, because it kept the elements of the clock set while still implementing new features, the table being the most noteworthy.

I saw that makeshift podium in person. I'm fairly certain a good portion of it was made out of cardboard.

It was Regisfan. In fact the cardboard was held together by a yard stick underneath it. I got to stay for a half hour after the taping to give feedback.
