Hello everyone, It's been about a year since my last project, and I've finally had time to start work on a new one. With host screen graphics from idolsfan, I have created an experimental slide that emulates the contestant and host screen in PowerPoint. It fully supports answering the question, three lifelines (50:50, Ask Someone and Double Dip) and walking away. "Switch" is a proposed 4th lifeline, if I develop the game past Q10. Since I intend to have practical uses for this in a group situation, "Ask Someone" is a version of phone-a-friend for the audience. I believe Germany had a lifeline like this? Some major improvements:1) Most game data is stored in a separate spreadsheet. This ranges from questions/categories to dollar amounts for the money tree. The spreadsheet will work out all the numbers needed to show on the host screen (e.g. money won if lost). This mean a lot of the game is now customizable. 2) Presentation is solely controlled by (wireless) keyboard. I can sit at the back and operate the game independent of the host and contestant. They can simply sit and play the game without worrying about inputs or being distracted by the mouse cursor. Major Problems1) Unfortunately there is no quick way of changing the correct answer position for each question. Main disadvantage over custom-software presentations. Anyway, comments and suggestions are welcome and I will let you know if I can find the time and willpower to develop this further. BL

I can't say anything but WOW, THAT LOOKS AMAZING!! I really love the changes you've done with the graphics I gave you and the graphics you made are really great! What I would suggest is that you put the answer indicator at the top, instead of the 1/15 because we know how many questions are left and we can see where we are in the game with the money tree. Plus, that would make some space free for the answer's explanation which could be great so as to be able to input more information if the text is longer, or make the text bigger. Alan

It's been a while since I quit developing Millionaire PPTs on PowerPoint, I most probably won't start again but you are really determined about this and I have to say this is definitely the most advanced WWTBAM PPT I have ever seen with all professional uses of the external links, graphics and custom animations! This is an amazing job, and I hope you can complete it. Good luck! And congratulations Idolsfan for such professional graphics!

As we say in French: "Je suis sur le cul!" (translation: "I'm on the bottom"). Is it real? Does it work? ^^ It's a huge work and you've done it very very well! Everything is here. It looks very simple to use. I hope you will done it entirely because it can worth (symbolically) a lot.
Moreover, I learn that is possible to create "two screens in one slide" without use the presentation mode, by a plugin, to run the PPT with the keyboard, and making some great graphics.
It's really interesting for my "9-minute Millionaire" project or the others.

Superb job on the powerpoint! I've been trying to do something similar on ppt, but couldn't figure out how to split between the host and the contestant (I guess I need Office 2013). Again, great job!

Yes that's right, it's also in my video description. Office 2013 is just an upgrade for the sake of an upgrade.

You've got as much chance getting this PowerPoint as I do becoming the next host of Millionaire. Although on the other hand, giving out your email address in such a way could lead to some nasty messages. We don't hand out things here to anyone who asks, and you're no exception.

gershomscientist, I wouldn't post your personal email address in a public forum. The best way to ask for bl5965's PPT is via the PM system, but I think it's rather unlikely that he will distribute his host screen in such a manner. If bl5965 wanted to share his work, he would most likely do so in the password-protected board designed for sharing fan games.

It's very clever how it's been used from an Excel Spreadsheet. I'm guessing you're using Object Actions for that, right?

Hi, sand.rules: It's not using object actions, it's just creating a link between the cell in Excel and the textbox in PowerPoint. descanic: Unfortunately the only way to change the place of the right answer is to create another Excel file with a different arrangement of correct answers. But once the initial file is created, it's easy to make duplicates.

Perhaps it was something else.
