Hello guys! I have a few questions regarding a particular camera movement/shot that was used on Millionaire. Here are a few examples: First video: 3:12 Second video: 2:29 Third video: 8:26 What is the camera movement/shot called? What type of camera is used to make this camera movement/shot? It's pretty cool, just saying. Thanks! Zachary wwtbamfan Oh, by the way, what do you guys think of my new profile image?

I'm so glad you brought this up. I have no idea what the specific name for that camera shot is, but I do know that it's hands down my favorite camera shot in just about anything I've ever seen. I just don't think I've ever witnessed a shot in any sort of non-scripted television program that was more perfectly suited to both the moment being captured and the music being played.
That shot is just one of the things that made classic Millionaire (and its revivals) so special.

I believe its called "Booming Camera/Crane Camera". It's a small camera hoisted up on a crane like beam and the camera operator controls it on the other end. It can be move around in 360 degrees and as well heights of 20 feet off the ground I believe.
Hope that answers the question?
