Did any of the Americans on the board notice that on Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve (or whatever it is), they used the clock tick sound from the clock version of the show?
I noticed it last year too but just never thought to post about it until now..

Did any of the Americans on the board notice that on Dick Clark's New Year Rockin' Eve (or whatever it is), they used the clock tick sound from the clock version of the show? I noticed it last year too but just never thought to post about it until now.. Happy new year! I didn't notice this. if only because I and others near me were caught up in the moment Happy New Year!

If they've been using it since 2003, I'm guessing that the ticking sound is part of a generic package of TV sounds widely available to television producers. I guess Matthew Strachan used that sound when he was composing his score for Millionaire. Perhaps that sound is even free and doesn't require a licensing agreement. If so, it's only a matter of time until somebody here finds it.

It's such a generic sound, I doubt it has any licensing attached to it.
