A promotional poster from the Millionaire Facebook page said "more than $100 million" three or four years ago. Recent press releases say that Meridith alone has given away more than $70 million. ABC broadcast a little over 300 episodes and there have been about 1800 syndicated episodes. Considering that primetime millionaire was a one-hour show and had easier questions than syndie Millionaire, I'd guess $115 million in total, if the number from the poster is right and they didn't do some generous rounding.

You should be able to determine the amount of prize money given away using this site. The statistics for both the primetime and syndicated versions of Millionaire are current as of January 25. Just click the "Statistics" tab to find the data you need.

I've looked at the site which Regisfan has introduced. Wow, I can't imagine why no one could win more than $250,000 in syndicated version! Was it because most contestants got a wrong answer for the 15th question or...?
