I really don't think they can be called specials anymore if they're pretty much the only episodes they do now.
Let's face it, Millionaire in the UK is about 1,000 miles PAST the shark, I don't think it'll last much longer.

Its a shame really - but it is ITV, so its not overly surprising to see them try to slap celebrities on anything they produce. This is the same company that has made 6+ years of all-celebrity Family Fortunes and other similar things! The real shame is, its not like Sony could sell the format to someone that would treat in any better because its so linked to ITV in its current form... The best thing that could happen to the show IMO would be to do one small series of shows a year and have just proper contestants - might get rid of some of the annoying gimmicks, but if people didn't tune in, then that would be it... |

Being a live program does cut out more time to think, though. Maybe they shouldn't make People Play episodes live.
