It maybe nothing significant, but here it goes...
I've noticed that for some strange reason, that the audience is quieter in syndicated Millionaire, when compared to the prime time Millionaire. Your thoughts? I know that both versions have the same amount of audience members in the studio during taping.

I think it may all be to do with how the audience is coached before and during the taping. My guess is that when primetime episodes were recorded, the audience has been told to make lots of noise when cheering and clapping to provide a good atmosphere. Each show would then have a feeling of being a massive event - the best example to use here is the Host Entrance in the 10th Anniversary episodes - as the lights spin around and the audience shouts and claps, you can feel almost like on a gig; sort of a Glastonbury-esque effect. Syndicated episodes are toned down because, well, it's daytime TV. People don't like when their daytime TV is too loud.

When I was at Millionaire a few years back, we were told to be really loud. Trust me it was really loud. I think that the audio levels during editing were lowered for the same reason Adasiekkk said. What about the audience sound for the 10th anniversary, during the show? I think it was as loud as the original prime-time version. Also the entrance of Regis of the episodes was quite loud as Adam said.

I think the audio levels have definitely been lowered in recent years. Even in Meredith's early seasons, the studio audience was so deafening that the viewers at home couldn't hear what she was saying at the top of the show. Like many changes to the show, I think this one started around the time of the Shuffle format. At least, that's when I first noticed the change.

Even in the early ABC run, it was quiet. Compare the levels of that to those of Super Millionaire, or the 10th Anniversary celebration, even Syndicated Seasons 1 and 2.
